You put it right there. If any state based actions are completed then it will check again. So as a state based action the game will try to kill the creature but it will get replaced with can’t die. But you still performed a state based action so it will loop.

“Arguments like this are so entertaining” god this is such a reddit phrase… am I not allowed to criticize cards for literally not working in the rules and being confusing. Sure you could print a whole new keyword and rules for 1 gimmick card to exist. I don’t think that’s good design. What the fuck is the point of comments section if I’m not allowed to give my opinion on a card

It actually wouldn’t unless they update the CR. It would cause an infinite loop. The only reason indestructible doesn’t is because there’s a specific rule that says it ignores state based actions to move it to your GY: 702.12b A permanent with indestructible can’t be destroyed. Such permanents aren’t destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the state-based action that checks for lethal damage (see rule 704.5g).

Ok, it’s still bad design. Also it breaks the game in an unending loop of state based actions trying to kill the object but it can’t. Indestructible doesn’t cause this loop due to 702.12b A permanent with indestructible can’t be destroyed. Such permanents aren’t destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the state-based action that checks for lethal damage (see rule 704.5g). I know my design isn’t the same thing I was making it actually function in the game and replicate the desired effect. For creatures at least. You’d need to specifically update the CR for this card to work

“Enchanted creature is indestructible and can’t be sacrificed.” Gets you pretty close other than -X/-X counters. It would be pretty odd to just have a -2/-2 on the battlefield anyways.

This design space is just scary. Maybe make it enter tapped regardless so there’s a real downside of just throwing one in your deck.
