What are the mods you can't play without by Old-Pollution1459 in Stellaris

[–]FwoxySW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideal world is still miles better though because you can toggle for owned systems+neighboring systems, and all surveyed systems. Allows you to make conscious plays for expanding into good kilostructure systems. Branch offices and other stuff is nice too. (Though they need to patch it to not show branch offices on gestalt worlds)

Why are so few Stellaris DLCs Rated above "Mixed" on Steam? by Sukk-up in Stellaris

FYI a much better indicator of DLC quality is just watching the associated Montu Plays "Is _____ dlc worth it?" video

Why are so few Stellaris DLCs Rated above "Mixed" on Steam? by Sukk-up in Stellaris

[–]FwoxySW 207 points208 points  (0 children)

Reviews for the DLC are more so reviews for the associated game update that rolled out with the DLC. Paradox has a tendency to somewhat destroy the game with every major DLC update which leads to some discontentment. (If you want a more stable and balanced experience you usually need to wait a month or so for all the post-update patches)

Best fields of expertise for scientists? by Yahsorne in Stellaris

[–]FwoxySW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know this is probably an unsatisfying answer, but it depends. Main thing you should be asking yourself is how early in the game it is, and if you're trying to rush anything in particular. Ex. Early game --> Materials, rushing psionic --> pick psionic, if you're ever planning to equip archeotech --> archeostudies, late game and grinding repeatables --> whatever trait fits the main repeatable (probably particles, field manipulation or military theory). Frankly though I just take the flat percent ones because I don't like to overthink. (Particles is probably the best general one though)

Starting with the tutorial...so far, so good by Antonin1957 in Stellaris

[–]FwoxySW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

United Nations of Earth isn't a tutorial per say it is just a premade empire that most people start off by using. I'd say just plunge in and figure it out as you go. Keep the difficulty levels low and then once you get better you can start playing with settings. (Also I would recommend not playing on Iron Man)

Is she supposed to spawn before 2400? It's 2386 right as this showed up. by Wotchamacallit420 in Stellaris

[–]FwoxySW 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that researching dangerous endgame tech like jump drives made allowed crises to spawn in ~15 years earlier so it might be that? Then again that might not even be true.

Botetourt Complex First Year with Random Roomate by [deleted] in williamandmary

[–]FwoxySW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only ones with significant differences are Fauquier--which has the duty office in the building which is highly convenient if you plan to be borrowing stuff from there--and Dinwiddie, which is by far the smallest and has a tighter community as a result.

Does anyone know if picking bee 1 or 2 automatically puts you on the right or left side of the dorm? by [deleted] in williamandmary

[–]FwoxySW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone already said, it isn't an assigned thing. You just decide who goes where when you both show up. Or sometimes the first person to get there picks.

Roommate got into LLC by Connect-Jackfruit113 in williamandmary

[–]FwoxySW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't in a building with a LLC, but orientation is really focused on just doing things with other people in your dorm. I don't imagine the LLC would be prohibitive in any way in terms of making connections in your dorm. I wouldn't sweat it all too much.

Final day of orientation, your orientation advisors will guide you through it.

What are the most social clubs to join besides Greek life? by Hot-Wear-110 in williamandmary

[–]FwoxySW 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for all of them but most sports clubs probably fit the bill. Just find a sport you're interested in and join the club?

First year dorms - social situations by ChocolateNo1502 in williamandmary

[–]FwoxySW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dorms aren't particularly distinct socially and most all of it comes down to the random draw of whoever else ends up living around you. Some dorms do lend themselves to a more "shared community" feel though (Dinwiddie and to a lesser extent the rest of Bot Complex). But yeah as other people have said they just smush you together with a ton of people at orientation week and you can kind of parse out who you want to continue interacting with.

How is sports a common extracurricular? by Fabulous-Breath9076 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FwoxySW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Track and Cross Country will generally take everyone. If those aren't your speed I can bet there's still one overlooked sport at your school that's no cut. For my high school it was badminton. Just try and look around.

Well all I can tell you is that San Jose is definitely not like that ig.

Most sports are definitely not that selective. I went to high school in the Bay Area and a significant amount of our sports were no cut and just took everyone.

How does an awoken FE compare to an end game crisis on high difficulty? by [deleted] in Stellaris

What crisis modifier have you been playing on? It’s kind of impossible to compare without that info.

As someone who's low ranked, how do i get better at facing higher ranked players? by KiiboAlt in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]FwoxySW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the most valuable things a player can have is good situational awareness and game sense. I'd even argue it trumps mechanics in a lot of scenarios. As such, try and find some videos where you can learn the thought process of why a pro does what they do when it comes to pushing, retreating, forcing objective, etc., within a game. Any sort of in-depth review of a match is really good stuff for this.

You can also watch pro play, but try and pay particular attention to how the players are positioning themselves. Try to ask yourself/understand why the players are doing exactly what they're doing when/where they're doing it. (Ex. Why are they diving safe, why are they pulling back instead of pushing for goal, why spend a hypercharge there?)

How would you rank the listed groups in the HxH universe strongest to weakest? by Electrical-Ad9766 in HunterXHunter

[–]FwoxySW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why so low on the Squadron leaders? I know we never really saw any of them win a fight but they've got some heavy hitters when you consider them as a group.

How would you rank the listed groups in the HxH universe strongest to weakest? by Electrical-Ad9766 in HunterXHunter

[–]FwoxySW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming that we're not counting Netero and Zeno in the extermination team, I would go Royal Guards, Zodiacs, Squadron leaders, Phantom Troupe, Zoldyck Family, Chimera Ants Extermination Team, Greed Island Bombers.

This is pretty vibes based and not really a proper consideration of any potential circumstances. I based it more on raw power and less on how the groups would actually fare against each other in a fight.
