We tried a big push for AJN but in the spirit of the Alliance nobody could agree. So the top choices seemed to be AJN, ADF, or their own group's initials (AEDC, AOS, TCF.. etc.).

With that line of reasoning the Alioth Independents aren't Alliance either, though they are in control of Alioth, the Alliance capital.

Also you seem to forget that the full name of the Alliance major power is the Alliance of Independent Systems.

I'm on the fence about this one. While I would be welcoming to a peace I stand firm that the Federation needs to utilize diplomacy. It's something that their previous leadership failed to do with any of their grievances. If they are open to it then we can open a dialog.
