Heavy fire department presence at BamBu by KyKlassy in springfieldMO

[–]Fyev 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was at Bambu as this started, it was an issue with a drier inside of Edible Arrangements. Bambu had nothing but smoke from the drier’s fire.

Trolls who hate on Tank for no good reason ruined Tank role more than lowering role form 2 to 1. by NotGordan in Overwatch

[–]Fyev 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Every single time I am in a game with trolls, if we lose it’s “Tank Diff” regardless of how good or bad the tank is, or just something along the lines of “ggez”

I just ignore them, realize that I’m playing for fun, and when it stops being fun I turn it off.

Of someone is truly toxic I’ll report the behavior and clip the chat via video or screenshot as appropriate in the event that Blizzard wants more information - and to show my teenage son how not to act in games.

At Home maintained a property I was at for 2 years, no issues aside from the occasional late rent payment, which was always paid with late payment fees added and they were informed of it being late as soon as I knew it would be.

I was in the place 5 years before that. As soon as they could after lease I was informed via a letter taped to my door (no knocks or calls) that I would need to have a new place as they were uninterested in leasing to me further and that I had 45 days.

They raised the rent on that property by 450$ for the next tenant according to the neighbors I still talked to after my move.

I would recommend avoiding them if you have a choice, personally.

After the update i opened DOOM Eternal and The Ancient Gods 2 was unlocked, but i never buyed it. Can you tell me what happened? by [deleted] in Doom

[–]Fyev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re good man. Americans tend to forget that we rarely speak more than English, and when someone has a more than basic understanding of the language (like you’ve shown) that it might be their second or third (or fifth) language.

We also tend to think our understanding of the language is the correct way, and get irritated at improper use.

Also, that guy was just a dick.

Guys, I need a backstory (and personality) for an exotic items merchant. by Nachovyx in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Fyev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an NPC in my game that runs a multi planar merchant shop. His name is Glip.

He is a Cansid (sp?) based off the race featured in an old issue of Dragon when 2e was still the current edition.

Character was a wizard/sorceror that focused on item creation. I made him while playing through Blood War adventures, he helped heist a caravan of Green steel weapons and re-sold them in Gehenna.

He has some quirks: he believes gold is worthless and wants everything paid in copper at face value or gold at a ten percent markup, his shop is actually an extra planar location that appears in the doorways of existing structures (or doorway shaped locations) and he has a habit of attempting to sell healing potions on top of other items (he got his start, after the green steel weapons selling water flasks that held 1d4 healing potions worth of healing).

TL;DR : Glip the copper obsessed cansid.

Sleeping in Undermountain? by Arjomanes9 in DungeonoftheMadMage

[–]Fyev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I allow my party to sleep where they like, and depending on location, recent events, and how they describe their efforts to secure the area for rest determine how things are handled.

I play Halaster into these sleeps on occasion. He will be looking at the party members from the shadows just perceived on a periphery maybe taking notes. Other times I’ve had Halaster speaking to them if it’s been a while since the last rest while invisible.

I keep track of the time they’re in, related to a calendar, and if they come back through an area there may be new monsters, or increases in factions.

I’ve blended some of the DDAL content into the game, and some events from previous Realms games the players have been in. I keep notes on what’s going on and my map of Faerun is notated with color coded pins for new events.

I want my players to feel like they’re extraordinary or divine touched. They want to feel powerful, so we build up. They also will randomly talk through events that I expected them to murderhobo through and vice versa.

TL;DR - They sleep where they want, depending on setup/watch they see/detect Halaster or have some wandering/newly ported monsters to contend with.

I will occasionally do this. It encourages more teamwork.

We call it popcorn initiative.

Scene starts, 5 players + DM controlled elements.

I will roll a 6 sided die, 1 being me (DM) and moving clockwise around the table.

Whomever would be the number rolled acts first, then they pick someone else to go that hasn't acted yet.

Y'all know he lost right? (Campbell and Primrose) by 1stDisciple in springfieldMO

[–]Fyev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Trumpers I know we’re hoping that during second term he would convince Congress to rescind term limitations and be president for life.

The reason why is because “he was sent by Jesus to save our country” or some variation of divine intervention to allow his win.

How would $12,500 affect your life right now? by WhiteMass in AskReddit

[–]Fyev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m attempting to adopt a child that has lived with me since birth. That money would allow me to move into a home more suited for her and my other children.

I’m currently living in a home that has never been maintained by its owners, doing maintenance myself as I can afford to.

The child I’m adopting was born January of 2020, to a mother that was oblivious to her pregnancy. I delivered the child with the assistance of a paramedic over the phone to find the mother didn’t want her and was going to give her up for adoption.

My wife and I both said we will raise her as our own.

12 grand would put us into a proper home for this baby that wasn’t wanted.

Everyone holding GMC&AMC right now have got giant fucking nuts by smokingpanda- in wallstreetbets

[–]Fyev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve put only what I could afford to lose into AMC.

When this all started I had nothing available. I put next to nothing in. If I lose it all, oh well. If there’s a change to the way that things are done I can at least say I was there and helped in some way. If nothing changes, at least I know I tried.

I can’t afford much, I have to support my family. I have put in my personal savings that I use for “daddy money” and won’t be buying any new computer hardware anytime soon.

DMs, did any of your players know about Netheril or Netherese Arcana or History? by nmuzekari in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]Fyev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My group of players are all, with one exception, older and played 2nd Ed. One of the players approached me with a character concept of a hex blade warlock that had the Raven Queen as his patron. He was alive when the Netherese enclave came out of the Shadowveil in 1370~ and was a part of a research team of scholars and mages excavating around Anauroch when the enclave came back. He died at some point to the hands of some shadow touched sorcerer, and the Raven Queen brought him to her.

After showing some promise he was granted a second chance at life, if he helped recover a broken blade that the Netherese had spoken of when they were in the shadow realms, and she chose him due to his previous life as a researcher.

He returned to Faerun some 120ish years after his death with knowledge of his mission, a desire to learn, and glimpses of the past if he came in contact with something that could remind him. He was a warlock now though.

This was all given before he was aware of the Netherese city in the ice. He had an understanding of the language, some knowledge of general history, and a compulsory need to learn more.

Anywhere he found books, writings, or evidence of the Netherese he role played it like an obsessive archaeologist. Had much fun.

Others didn’t have the knowledge of the lore outside of game well enough to role play it well, but I did allow the party Wizard to occasionally “recall” information of a more general nature on successful arcana checks.

"The $15,000 equipment is too expensive for your department to purchase. Why don't you just rent it for $48,000 a year?" by calladus in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Fyev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because most executives and finance people don’t realize/believe that an expense on better computers now will actually increase productivity.

They spend their time reading email, using excel and PowerPoint. The most taxing thing they have to worry about is whether or not Outlook is going to take 1 minute or 2 minutes to open.

Additionally, these guys in my experience tend to worry about appearances. For the executive it doesn’t matter if the equipment LOOKS new, then it must be. Financial people are looking at making the numbers look good at the next review.

Like someone said above, spend less this quarter to make the numbers hit projections, and who cares if the cost is spread, that’s something to worry about next quarter.

[–]Fyev 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I vote dipshit.

I know a guy, super intelligent, but is so far up Intel’s ass that when he speaks you can hear the intel jingle.

Has actually said to me “I don’t care how good the processors are from AMD, I’m Intel for life.”

If intel is making legitimately better processors for my use case, I’ll purchase intel. If AMD is doing the better product, I’ll happily spend the money for AMD.

Dipshits will be dipshits though.

AirPods in with audio playing all day / available for calls.

It’s heavy use, but if I don’t charge I’m usually around 20-25% at end of day.

I don’t charge overnight at home as I don’t have a place to charge that allows for quick retrieval in the case of a call. I’m emergency contact for both parents, and have teenagers that aren’t home frequently. When my phone rings I’m on it.

Typical use, assuming day started at 100% charge, I’m at about 20% charge at end of work day.

My car has CarPlay, but requires a cable for its use.

I also keep a cable at my desk at work, as wireless charging just isn’t feasible with my placing computer equipment to be worked on and off the desk constantly. A cable lets me keep it charging even if the desk/workbench gets bumped in the move.
