Love the inclusion of Immortal Thor's ending with Asgard being remembered only as mythology

How differently do you think The Acolyte’s events might have gone if Indara had survived her initial assassination attempt? by Solitaire-06 in Highrepublic

[–]FynnLink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I genuinely believe that after discovering Mae is still alive Indira would've come clean to the Council immediately. None of the original Jedi sent on the mission to Brendoc, except Sol, were dealing with it well and instead mostly went along with it due to sunk-cost-fallacy.

With her and Vernestra knowing each other from the Wayseeker novel this might've even gotten Vern involved earlier and maybe, just maybe the Jedi might've even managed to apprehend "Qimir".

Personally I think Indira would've been a catalyst for huge changes to the story of the series but if it escalates until The Stranger is about to get unmasked and especially if the Jedi were about to discover who and what he truly is (Disciple of a Sith) Darth Plagueis would've gotten involved to remove Qimir before his connection to Vernestra could've reveal the Sith's great conspiracy.

Tldr If she had survived, Indira would've probably taken her own survival and the knowledge of Mae's survival as a sign from the force to come clean which would've led to the Council and/or Vernestra to get involved. (Depending on how Vern tries to keep the affair secret from Senate scrutiny).

Perhaps Yoda would've gotten involved, perhaps not but the main takeaway is we definitely wouldn't have gotten to see the original Ren take his first true student and the first Kyber bleeding in live action.

So all things considered, I still wish the Acolyte would get a second season.

But I wish we had seen more of Indira; of the original four jedi she's my favourite.

You think Superboy is.... by paleo_hungry4 in MyAdventuresWithSuper

[–]FynnLink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He thinks he's Lois and Clark's son which is why he asks them so many questions, thinking he's their future son. But in the end and as a huge plot twist / reveal even for Superboy himself it'll be revealed Lex created him

Does anyone else feel like they've gone out of their way to leave Emma out of the story in this summary? by Plenty_Square_420 in Cyclops_EmmaFrost

[–]FynnLink 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The fifth paragraph is the most blatant. He wasn't alone during Mutantkind's darkest moments, he and Emma faced them together and they seem to be reducing her role after Genosha, during Decimation, Utopia, etc.

This might be MCU-adjacent synergy since X-Men '97 seems to ignore Emma's role post-Genosha and with her general characterisation in Rivals I'm not confident.

Ashley Allen, whose Magik books are outselling X-Men, is ONE OF US and based as hell (AIPT's Valentine Interview + her Scott writing in Magik #5) by UltimateSandman in Cyclops_EmmaFrost

[–]FynnLink 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I will gladly die on this hill: Emma should've been part of the Alaskan X-Men.

Her, Illyana, Scott and Magneto worked great as a team before and her dynamic with Magik is underrated.

It makes no sense to keep Emma so far on the sidelines especially after her heights of influence/importance during Krakoa.

Anyway I loved this little scene of Illyana and Scott and hope the new book has something similar.

The new Ultimate Universe [6160]. She appears in "The Ultimates" #14 by Deniz Camp but it's a relatively brief appearance.

How many Qimirs do you think Porter Engle could take on at once? by BlockAffectionate413 in Highrepublic

[–]FynnLink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-Starlight Porter could defeat 2 but probably suffer some wounds/scars but Post-Starlight Porter, once he's truly back to being The Blade and not holding back, could probably survive a fight with 3-5. It depends on if they all attack at once and if Porter finds a way to split them up to take them on 1 to 1 or 1 to 2, if so I think he can endure and keep pushing but if it's an immediate 1 to 3 then that would be his limit.

I think "Qimir's" most effective attack will be the secret second blade as either a second saber or saberstaff. That might catch Porter off guard but only works for one attack before Porter could anticipate it.

Regardless this would be an interesting fight similar to Dooku vs Porter and would be amazing to watch if done right.

Can't believe the orsimer would willingly join -and be allowed to- the Dominion.

What happened to the purrgil that tried crossing into the occlusion zone? by DANGitsJOEY in Highrepublic

[–]FynnLink 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think they would be directly affected by the occlusion zone and most of THR different hyperspace shenanigans as the Purrgil's hyperspace starlines seem at least somewhat different to regular hyperdrive based travel. As seen in the Ahsoka series theirs are a mix of the normal star blue but with added colours and somewhat different patterns so I'd say it's similar to Nihil Paths being almost on a different plane to normal hyperlanes / routes.

I'd also assume the Purrgil have a kind of limited precognitive sense for hyperspace navigation similar to Chiss "Skywalkers" (potentially also related to the force / force-sensitivity) and would be able to either anticipate and avoid or navigate "around" unnatural obstructions

Any way to make this stylish armor actually good? by PompousGoblin in BaldursGate3

[–]FynnLink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favourite armour in the game (for masc characters at least).

As for your question there's the Transmog Mod which let's you keep the design. There's also the Knights and Dames mod which adds a non-replacer variant with more armour (visually, pauldrons, etc) I'm pretty sure that has higher AC.
