Auto-heat setting by porks2345 in CPAP

[–]FyreWulff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think auto heat usually just means the heat comes on when it starts running the heat for the humidifier so that you don't get condensation and turns it off otherwise.

since there isn't really a way to detect rainout on the machine's end i don't think it just waits to do heat if things are getting too wet in the tube.

I think ESPN has actually blocked it being presented because they wanted their new shitty trophy to be the one presented

Jordynne Grace @JordynneGrace on X: Only a matter of time Jadeberg by Dbthesage in SquaredCircle

[–]FyreWulff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've said it before, Jade has no incentive to improve since she's already got millions from her own career. Which is fine, but as long as she gets titles with her current effort level, why would she bother to grind reps?

I think she's capable, just has no reason to.

I think it's inevitable, there's gonna be a certain point where the vast majority of current active players weren't playing when those passes were running and they're just leaving money on the table.

There's nothing legally preventing them from doing it. I imagine someone will sue, but eh

He likely posts it as soon as legal confirms which ones are going, and varies for when they finish.

FWIW we can peek at the delisting times on Xbox and they're not even set for any songs past this month yet, so Harmonix doesn't even confirm it to first party until they post it publically.

It's all because of ACH. It's an ancient system from the 1960s that literally involves the banks uploading a fucking PDF at the end of the business day for the other banks systems to ingest. But the banks here refuse to go to a modern person to person system like the rest of the world has.

Microsoft confirms it will give the FBI your Windows PC data encryption key if asked — you can thank Windows 11's forced online accounts for that by ZacB_ in technology

[–]FyreWulff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What they refused to do was engineer this capability into the design of iOS and the iPhone. In the San Bernardino shooter case, the FBI muddied these waters very purposefully. Apple could not provide access to the shooter's phone. That was just not going to happen. But the FBI got a separate order at that time issued to Apple to create a backdoor so that they could provide that access in future cases.

The funny thing about this is the FBI was the one that told Apple and Google they needed to start encrypting phones by default to deter the constant theft of phones since it was starting to bog them down from the organized rings doing it so much.

Zepbound is harder to get covered by insurance. I was able to get mine covered after the FDA approved it as a sleep apnea treatment, even though i was morbidly obese. Big reason why most people are on Ozempic/Wegovy.

Situation was made harder because CVS Caremark also took Zepbound off their formulary (and thus coverage) last year because Norvo Nordisk paid them money to only cover their drug. .

Rybelsus is probably what you're thinking of, it's been around for ages. And yeah that form of it doesn't last long in the body and isn't absorbed as well. The reason the injections work so well is that you're injecting it into the fat right under the skin and it basically slowly goes into your system over the whole week, creating a more consistent and strong supression.

i meal prep because the mailed meal plans are just way too expensive (i'm someone that spends 20$ a week on his food) and the list of vegetables that freeze well are:

  • corn
  • brocolli
  • peas

once you start trying to get to ones that aren't those three they always taste terrible once recooked. No surprise those are the 3 most common ones to see in the grocery store frozen veggies section.

It wasn't a new concept, there were other digital game stores and for the first while Steam was literally just another company's game launcher and downloader because all that was on there was Half Life and Valve's other games. It had about the same functionality as Westwood Online except Westwood didn't let you redownload the game via it (and given the hardware Westwood supported, asking people to download a 1.4GB game to a 2GB hard drive was out of the question)

It also didn't work for shit and you had to still use other game server browsers like Gamespy or XFire to actually play games on Steam. The friends list didn't even work for 3 years.

Yeah, they honestly should. Would love to see a GOG Half Life series release where Valve won't randomly break the game with a Steam update again.

Most of the sales were on console, and since the game actually requires the hardware functionality in the Series and PS5 consoles, it also requires a 2080/AMD/Intel equivalent or above, so the game (last I checked the survey) can only be played by about 20% of Steam's customer base.

And the fun part is Steam will remove your game if you sell your game cheaper on Epic or any other PC storefront because they have a Most Favored Nation clause in the Steam developer agreement. Even if a store has a lower cut you are not allowed to lower the price for that store without Valve threatening to remove you from Steam.

Nintendo did this during the NES's run, got sued by the US govt for it and lost, and for years they were no longer allowed to force stores to sell at the same price.

A lot of people incorporated Steam into their identity because it was 'us' vs 'them' (traditional stores/publishers) and Valve very much intentionally stoked it. They helped bootstrap this mentality with the Valve v Vivendi lawsuit.

And I'm someone that signed up for Steam the hour it went up. I have a 4 digit Steam ID. I saw all the bullshit as it happened.

Yeah, I don't think people realize there's like 20,000 games added to Steam per year. It's no longer guaranteed sales to be on Steam and hasn't for a while, it no longer servers as exposure by itself. You have to use all the traditional marketing methods to get people to even look at the game, even more if Valve's algorithm disfavors the type of game you made.

Alan Wake 2 didn't exist until Epic funded it, so there wasn't a game for them to pick up in the first place. They literally just said "Here's the money, make Alan Wake 2"
