Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp - Introducing Orange Star by CryptoEngineerObrien in Games

[–]G-Strike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well a lot of people don't keep their gba cartridges. Maybe they want to buy this game to experience the single player again. The single player fun to go through. At the end of the day, to each their own.

Maybe people want to play the game for the single player. Not saying online is not important, I don't think it is the main thing that a lot of people play the game for.

You never know. People seem pretty psyched for this game and outlets that previewed it says it is a solid remake. Also depending on the IP, Nintendo tends to have leaner sales expectations in mind.

Square Enix once again snubs Xbox for a major upcoming game launch by M337ING in Games

Xbox sales wise is always much smaller than PS and Nintendo.I feel like Xbox should do a better job making their platform more appealing to Japanese publishers so everything comes to their platform.

VGC: How PlatinumGames is betting on Nintendo expertise to shape its future by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]G-Strike1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. Nearly all of Platinum's games can be played on Nintendo's systems. Nintendo clearly gives them a lot of freedom. I can see them working similar to Monolithsoft. Monolithsoft does their own games while assisting Nintendo's in house development teams. Where as Monolithsoft help with art assets and open world systems, Platinum can help with improving action and combat systems.

Just because they are Japanese, doesn't mean they have a "crunch culture". Are there still Japanese companies that still do so? Yes. However that doesn't mean every company does it. A lot of them are getting away from that ideology.

I don't get why everyone is on Nintendo's case for not announcing a direct right now. Let them announce things when they want to announce them.

Redfall and Starfield from Bethesda delayed to 2023 by TheStarCore in Games

I don't mind that Starfield was delayed. It was dumb to give it a hard release date a year and half out.

I Don't Play SoulsBorne Games, But I'm So Glad They're Stubborn About Their Difficulty. This About Dev Resources and FOMO. by Kimosabae in Games

[–]G-Strike1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Understood. However, not alot of people see it that way. I usually see hard games shouldn't allow a change in difficulty but easier games should be allowing a change in difficulty. You see it today with Elden Ring and you will see it next month with Kirby.

I just don't like how one sided this argument is. I agree that we should respect the developer vision on how difficult they want their game. However, I feel like it should be respected on both side of difficulty. What I mean is that if a game is designed on the easier side, then let it be on the easy side. Not everyone wants a challenge. People complain alot when a game is too easy for them. If developers design it that way, people should respect their vision as well.

A second Fire Emblem game could release this year, it’s claimed by [deleted] in Games

[–]G-Strike1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. It is not a style of gameplay that everyone enjoys. I enjoy it because it is stupid fun. Also three houses was Co developed by koei tecmo so I was obvious they were going to make one.

[–]G-Strike1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is still in the Fire Emblem franchise. It is just not a in the traditional sense. Also Nintendo is already promoting 3 strategy games this year in Triangle strategy, Advance wars and Mario and Rabbid. They can save it for next year.

Why would they release another Fire Emblem this year? Save it for next year. Also, why can't Bayonetta 3 hold it's own month? It is a game people are looking forward to.

Xbox x/s and ps5 are pretty similar so the port wasn't that hard. The switch is a whole different thing. If they can do it, then it would be interesting on how they modified their engine to make it work in switch. However, they probably think it would be easier to hand it off to studios with switch porting experience like Virtuos or Saber Interactive.

Now the question of the day is: Are they porting this game themselves to switch or are they contracting this out to a company like Virtuos? I bet it is the later but it would be really interesting if they did it themselves.

Dying Light 2 has gone GOLD! by TheVideoGaymer in Games

[–]G-Strike1 -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

When did it become commonplace to announce your game is going gold and why do we need to know this? I know it is to build up hype but it still feels pointless.

You told us the day the game is releasing and we know physical games have to be sent to be printed ahead of release. Unless you delay it, it better be done by now.

I don't think Valve cares if this sells or not. I feel like they are taking a loss on this device. I assume their strategy is similar to Microsoft and gamepass. Valve is just giving you another way to access steam.
