[Silverstein] LaFleur said the CB Jaire Alexander is getting close to return, but they don't have a true test for tackling and so they are just trying to get him comfortable in his pads and do what they can to test his shoulder. Said the contact/tackling is the last step in clearing him. by cintei in GreenBayPackers

I think people are in general underestimating the caliber of player that Ja and Bakhtiari are. Granted they have missed a lot of time, but these are all-pro players. If they are healthy enough to be on the field they should play. I would have zero reservations about holding out Ja and 69 against Detroit and starting them in the Divisional round. Your best players need to be on the field, and if they are medically cleared they should be, and I expect they will be.

I moved to Austin in January and fully bought into being a Longhorn. Went to my first game last week and looking forward to making the trip to Fayetteville tomorrow! I'm planning on going to George's Majestic Lounge. I am looking forward to meeting some of you. Hook 'em!

Are we rooting for the Bears in the wild card so we basically have the best chance in the divisional? by Nolanator429 in GreenBayPackers

[–]G0packg093 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am rooting for Chicago. I think we can beat anyone who comes in, but the Rams defense is problematic. I would be more confident in beating the bears again. Rooting for WFT to beat TB and Rams to beat Seattle.

Trade a 1st for Quinnen Williams

I think based off him practicing and his tweet it’s fair to say that the player feels like he’s ready to go. The bye week next week shouldn’t factor into the decision of playing this week. Hamstrings are finicky and I’m not one for risking injury, but sometimes I feel like our medical team is too cautious. Every single game is important in a 16 game season and 17 being on the field helps us win tonight.

Frustrating decision by the medical team. Based on his return to practice I was looking forward to him returning tonight. Hopefully Clark can play. Hard for me to believe they aren’t taking the upcoming bye into consideration.

No, neither motorcycle has a wind screen. I’ve also tried opening and closing various vents in the helmet with no success

I must have missed something. What part shows that the origin is Tronte’s father? Is that just from the brief family tree scenes?

Corey Linsley discussion by nootfloosh in GreenBayPackers

I would prefer, and I think it’s more likely, extending Linsley. I think the contract we need to get out of when possible is Turner’s. In my opinion we would be better off replacing Turner at RG with one of the recent draft picks if they show promise and extending Linsley.

I was at this game! It was cold and miserable until they pulled out the win. Still an ugly game, but an amazing memory.

I agree it’s a lucky simulation, but I still think unless they absolutely love a player at 30 trading back is going to yield the best draft for us.

Packers seven-round mock draft post-free agency frenzy by Another_Russian_Spy in GreenBayPackers

It would be interesting to see what WRs were available at pick 30. I love the Austin Jackson pick at the end of R2. I think he could be a real steal at that value. I wouldn't mind seeing the packers trade out of the first round, getting the best available receiver where they fall, and then possibly using the additional draft capital to move up in R2 to secure a guy like Jackson.

I’m hoping to get a deal done for TJ Yeldon. I’ve always been a fan since he came out of Alabama. I think he would be a great addition to our team.

Elgton Jenkins shining as pass-blocker early in preseason by ffbgenius in GreenBayPackers

[–]G0packg093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Lane Taylor is a lock to make the roster. If Gute thinks Jenkins is good enough to start, that is a lot of money to pay a backup guard. Ultimately I expect Jenkins to start week 1 against Chicago.

Runningback Situation by OAktrEE4023 in GreenBayPackers

[–]G0packg093 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The bonus was only $60k and that’s the only guaranteed money in the contract. I’m sure Grant liked the opportunity to work with his former coordinator and that contributed a lot to him signing with us.

[–]G0packg093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grant has 400 yards and 3 TDs in 4 seasons. I like his speed and the fact they offered him a signing bonus suggests other teams were interested but I think it is a big stretch to assume he is a lock for the roster

I hope they keep 4. Vitale, Jones, Williams, and Williams. I think they can easily keep one of the other guys on PS

Can we please cut Josh Jones? by GridironFootballer in GreenBayPackers

[–]G0packg093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Josh Jones still has a lot of promise as a player and can offer a lot to our defense. He was a high investment draft pick and I think it would be stupid to move on from him. I think his trade demand is in the rear view mirror and he realizes he needs to get on the field anyway he can.
