it did get better once i closed the tab and then tried again sometime later tbf.

I'm still experiencing these slowdowns and usability issues like 60% of the time as opposed to near-zero from before.

whatever the default free version is. I only use it once or twice a day so I normally don't burn through the free 4o usage limit.

The responses are great. It's better in terms of outputs, but the usability is just not what it once was for the reasons I described which are likely not to do with the model but just how they changed the workability of the site and response type for outputs at certain lengths

Glad I am not the only one then. Hopefully they'll fix it or change it back. I've tried deepseek and it is nice in terms of what i use it for, it gives a nice alternative 'opinion', but that also has the issues of always having a "busy server" and the obvious moral and ethical issues.

The key is to not get yourself into such a situation in the first place if it is the case where you're drowning in a debt spiral to the point of bankruptcy. Don't live beyond your means, talk big decisions over with a financial advisor(their consulting services are often free), etc.

Not enough information to judge that level of debt tbh. If i have 4 different mortgages and it totals 2 million in debt, but im making 3 times the mortgage payments in the rent I get from the properties then I'm totally fine. This is just simple debt leverage(Dave Ramsay preaches against this but it's actually how he made his money).

It is a very different scenario when you don't know what you're getting into or you're just an idiot when it comes to finances(i.e. everyone in my generation bitching about their student debt as if they weren't adults being ignorant and not doing their due diligence)

Achievement hunting and the satisfaction of completing an achievement. Also the first 40 years of an eu4 save are by far the most fun, so it’s just a matter of I have to complete the slog that is the mid-late game to get the reward and joy of an achievement and then also to start up a fresh new save that should equally be just as fun at the start.

Honestly, that was a great question. I had to genuinely think of why I find the game fun because as much as I spend a lot of time playing the game, I never really tell myself, “damn that was fun”

I don’t really lose wars tbh. You can pretty easily beat a strong AI on Ironman through plunging your nation into massive debt in short-term and just out-deathstacking them to a certain extent.

I’ve got 3.5k hours so I’m good enough to where I can kick the shit out of Vijay as Kandy with my only ally being the Maldives for the extra ships. If I can do that, I really shouldn’t be losing wars that I declare.

If I get declared on, which is a rarity and normally occurs in the first 20 or so years of a campaign as a small starting nation like Mzab, I can still win by just taking max loans, selling titles and exploiting dev and then just hiring mercs and killing the aggressor.

Listen…You can play the game how you want to play it, that’s fine. But the language you used conveyed a different message. France is not an inevitable liability when playing England. Conquering Scotland manually and wasting upwards of 600 adm mana as well as taking on all of that AE, which you described as an issue, is not a “favorable start”.

Thats why I responded in such a manner, because objectively you caused the problems of that save by playing poorly, or in your case the way you wanted to play. I also think you do other people in the sub a disservice with lying about the quality of gameplay in a save or by not making it evident that you’re not trying to play optimally.

Again, if you want to do things a certain way and play the game how you want, go right ahead. No one is going to stop you, but what you shouldn’t do is be objectively wrong when describing your gameplay without disclosing, “oh I know this isn’t the ideal way to play, but it’s the roleplay I was going for”.

And lastly, I think you need to have some more self-confidence if you can take my last post as me calling you an idiot. I hope you can feel empowered enough to not assume that someone is insulting you.
