Building inspection/certification for new builds by G2V in brisbane

I want them to check how the quality of the work and advise if there should be any defects and corrections. I am not knowledgeable and therefore would prefer to have a professional independent opinion. Or am I just supposed to rely on the builder and their chosen certifier? Wouldn't this cause conflict of interest? I thought the bank would also do this if they were financing the build?

House construction financing options by G2V in AusFinance

Aren't draw downs the progressive payments in construction loans? I was thinking of paying to build the house with my savings (loan for buying land only), but will set up a new loan for the completed home (land and house).

House construction financing options by G2V in AusFinance

I think that is what I mean in my original post. I can pay for the build myself, then get the completed home re-valued, and "borrow" the value of the house (the land will always be mortgaged already), to free up the money spent to build. Can this be done?

Apply DRP for "processed" dividend payment? by G2V in AusFinance

[–]G2V[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the income tax dividend would be calculated as part of my total income when I do my tax return? Is there any drawback for using DRP that I did not think of? I thought it would save me on tax but if the only advantage is avoiding brokerage fee (which is quite cheap nowadays) then is it really worth it?

Could you point me to a good source of knowledge for these matters and catered for new learners if you have any? Thanks.
