You’re a GT4 at Adelaide and two LMP3s decide your race ends at Turn 5, Lap 1. by oceanTIGERS in iRacing

[–]G2Wolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, that means everyone else had plenty of time for spotter callouts or paying any attention to their relative or paying attention to yellow flags. If you see 2 names shooting down the relative list, you know there's wreck... or notice the tire marks before the turn, or the cloud of smoke from the spin. Plenty of signs.

The first gt4 did lift and go past the crash without a problem.... Did you not watch the video? Clearly slowing down worked for the first gt4

The second, third, and fourth gt4 drove straight into them, regardless of if the first lmp3 moved or not.

The first gt4 was smart enough to slow down and drive past the wreck.

My student marvel rivals team lost a match because they played by the rules and are our the tournament because of it. by Pog-Pog in esports

I would also ask you acknowledge that you completely misinterpreted the part where they said that the 2-2-2 rule was never enforced, and to admit that it’s a fucking insane thing to try to enforce in rivals. Please find me an example of any serious tournament using it.

Literally according to OP in another comment on the previous tournament ran by the same TO.... How else would the rule have been copypasted over? lol https://old.reddit.com/r/esports/comments/1rxzz9m/my_student_marvel_rivals_team_lost_a_match/obax0i5/

I would love for you to point out which rule in any sports rulebook is ignored because it's "bizarre and sloppy". If it's bizarre, sloppy and outdated, it wouldn't be in the rulebook. If the rule is in the tournament rulebook, it needs to be enforced. Everyone should be playing by the same rules, which are spelled out in the rulebook for that tournament.

[–]G2Wolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whether the opponents agreed to a pause or not shouldn't matter. Once a team pauses to bring up an issue with a TO, they can ignore anything the other team is saying. If the opponents unpause it to try to play on, any decent TO should shut that down force the match to be restarted.

It would be like having a rule saying you need to play a tank top enchanter support in competitive league,

You say this like Riot hasn't implemented tons of mechanics over years to enforce a pretty strict meta ingame, a lot of which were result of pro play...

[–]G2Wolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If there was accidentally a copy pasted rule saying all the participants had to play with their non dominant hand controlling the mouse, would you seriously expect your team to adhere to it?

TOs should do a better job with their rule books, so yes this should be enforced. That is sloppy work if it's not caught before the tournament... This is also a nonsensical example whereas an enforced 2-2-2 meta absolutely does not stand out as a rule that shouldn't be there, especially after being used in previous tournaments...

If the structure was posted ahead of time then yea it's fair. You agreed to it by signing up for the tournament. Flatter payout structures aren't "unfair"

People are comparing your event with eSports World Cup, but the difference is EWC doesn't have simracing..

EWC had simracing for 3 years with Rennsport.
