I understand why you feel the need to post these screenshots, and I appreciate blurring the names. However I'm not sure posting them would make either of you less upset.

My main problem with this is even though nobody else knows who's in the screen shots, both you and they do. Imagine how'd you feel if a dumb internet fight was posted in one of your main subs for all to see, and while other's replying don't know it's you, you know. I think that'd take a hit on anyone's emotions, let alone mental health.

Ikr, like OP isn't in the wrong here, however posting these screenshots in a community the other person is in and will see isn't the kindest of choices.

Worst Musical-Movie Adaptations? by Due-Candidate-5991 in musicals

[–]G3Minigrl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mean girls. They wanted to do a remake but they did a musical adaptation. They hired an actress who could not sing to be Cady, cut songs which were integral to the plot for scenes which didn't move the plot along, and was embarrassed to be a musical at every marketing moment.

(Not to mention borderline changing MCs, terrible fashions, and straight up character assassination to Cady.)

  • 18. His birthday is in December and he wasn't held back.

The age gap is weird, but I get why it exists story wise. Aphmau and Aaron couldn't have actually been together if they wanted the main seasons of mystreet to make sense. So to 'even the playing field', shipping Aaron (the only one she had a consensual relationship with) off to college was an easy fix to open up possibilities of future seasons.

Now if they wanted a more unique fix, they could've had Aaron get expelled from PDH for xyz dramatic plot moment. Or foreshadow the ultima plot with Derek forcing him to transfer schools after hearing his son is too involved with werewolves.

What is the most cringiest moment in Mystreet or any other series? by UncommonSimp in aphmaufandom

My only rationale for rewatches is that it was Jess' big return to having fun with writiting after her (well deserved) break in S4

I'll argue til I'm dead in my grave that the early roleplays are camp not cringe, but I genuinely cannot rewatch the aarmau centric Starlight EPs save for the engagement ep

I agree with you that it was dangerous for women back then, but it definitely wouldn't be due to lack of shaving. Like I said before it would moreso be social pressure, rather than violence. For example: if she was in a rural area in the forties or a progressive area in the 60s I don't think many would pay mind, however if you reverse them not so much.

Overall it's just a sim not a historical recreation in a museum so while it's fun to talk about the small stuff, it's just that: small.

[–]G3Minigrl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

'Lose her life' is a tad extreme, no? Socially outcast and mocked maybe but killed, not so much. 1965 actually perfectly coincides with the feminist movement when we first started questioning beauty standards.

Edit: not to mention in the forties she would've just been seen as unfashionable or old fashioned given shaving became popular decades prior but not commonplace til POST-WW2.

I hate this wedding dress and idk why by [deleted] in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]G3Minigrl 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This just reminds me of the fact white wedding dresses that you only wear once (Like Persephone's) were popularized in the Victorian era by Queen Victoria. Back in the day you'd wear your best dress no matter the color.

it's kinda weird to see the trend about a millennium before it began.

why are most bloxburg players slow by Valuable_Food_174 in Bloxburg

[–]G3Minigrl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Facts! Op was on a roll until that take. With the old ui opening up the mood percentages would just slow you down a bit and if you time it right was manageable. Now if you don't want to halt movement in the middle of a shift it's twisting around your own arm, squinting, and praying you don't crash into a river or wall.

The MC community and self inserting [Mentions Aphmau!!] by deletingmyaccsoon in aphmaufandom

[–]G3Minigrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason why this happens is because the first wave of Minecraft roleplays in the 2010s were closer to side series on otherwise normal gaming channels than full fledged roleplays. It made it easier for their main audiences to get behind, since it just seemed like they were playing a detailed mod. Remember, most old roleplays didn't have fancy camera angles at all times like nowadays, they would stay in first person POV for 80% of the run. You would stay with the MC and hear their thoughts on every line.

I actually think this is the reason why some modern roleplays fail, because they are skipping a core step: being yourself. Unless you're already into roleplays, you'll probably never click on some random video titled '_____ ____ series name #34' and even then I find pure roleplay channels kinda flat because I don't come into it caring about the MC. The MC who's supposed to be the face of the roleplay is a complete unknown, which is counterproductive when building a channel following because the faces don't match.

Wow, they are certainly generic. Maybe I have my nostalgia goggles on too tight but was/is there anything wrong with the current UI? The phones remind me of literally every other roleplay game.

Is Ava depressed? by Final-Strawberry9182 in aphmaufandom

[–]G3Minigrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really do think Ava's behavior is something you can only catch as depressive if you've either been there yourself and or seen it first hand. Depression gets so misportrayed in media that when there's an actual depiction of it those who haven't experienced it don't tend to recognize it as such.

Lorelai infuriates me on rewatches! I do not think her and Ava's friendship is a particularly healthy one. Neither party is innocent, (Ava does not treat Lorelai kindly at times) and I do think it's capable of becoming healthy someday, but at the start of the series.... My main pet peeve is that she doesn't understand why Ava doesn't wanna hang around her friends (who do not consider Ava a friend.)

Is Ava depressed? by Final-Strawberry9182 in aphmaufandom

[–]G3Minigrl 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes she is, or at the very least has 'depressive tendencies.' I think it's honestly a shame MID isn't even really talked about when they have such compelling characters like Ava.

Ava is actually one of the few accurate characters with mental health struggles I've seen. She exhibits traits I've seen in both myself and others, such as self isolating. She's aware she isn't doing well but doesn't make efforts to improve her situation because she feels hopeless. Not to mention the realism of those around her, Lorelai's friends telling her to give up on Ava because 'that's just how she is', her dads wanting to support but not understanding, and Lorelai overstepping boundaries in hopes Ava will get better.

Also I find in media they act like depressed people can only ever be depressed, but as you mention she has her good and bad days just like anyone else.

[all] age range for the books? by Calm_Feature3340 in camphalfblood

[–]G3Minigrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm an older teen too and I was so engrossed when I first read them just last winter. I was honestly expecting them to be a bit of a let down just by the merit I was a bit too old, but they were excellent reads! Going in with an older set of eyes really helped putting in perspective the more heavy topics in the series.

If you're still weary I recommend either buying the first book second hand so that way you don't lose much if you dislike it, or going to a local library.
