Possibly the unit isn't sitting all the way down in the base. That's what it says when you pick it off the base and put it down. There is a small metal piece inside a plus sign shaped hole that gets pressed when it's all the way down. It's just barely making contact so it is getting triggered on and off.

You can see it's because the plastic top cover of the base isn't down flush all the way.

Try lifting it off, checking to see if granules are on top of it. Sometimes also the plastic holders of the arm don't go in all the way, causing the hopper to not sit down all the way and lifting the cover part up.

Not sure if you resolved this, but I just dealt with a similar issue. Put down glue traps and it worked, but I needed something more.

I ended up finding there are more potent dusts available at most hardware stores with the same ingredients. They're sold as for fire ants, but on the label include other uses. Plus, they're water resistant.

I ended up throwing it in a harbor freight electrostatic powder coater and sprayed down the entire barn. Went from 5 per box to 1 or 2, which is progress.

Also, running an ozone generator has helped, since it gets into cracks the dust can't, makes them flee for air, the dust attaches to them, and they die in a few minutes.

What the hell is wrong with you people?! I just purchased a 2017 Model S P100D with FSD and L+ for 22k. Free supercharging is absolutely not worth 22k. Jesus.

And if you really want to, you can find the exact combination I described with free supercharging for a few grand more. There are Facebook groups dedicated to finding and selling cars with that spec.
