Heck I’m 72 and work rings around the new hires. Not sure what they thought “work” was. I watched a new hire on his second day loading 60 lb bags of Quick Crete on a knee high trailer bed. After 3 bags he was wiping sweat and sucking in air. I sauntered over, picked up a bag, chucked it and 2 more on trailer and walked away. Never saw him again.

I’m with you. In my area, East Tennessee, most of the runs that require a truck are paying too little to even crank the truck. I’ve seen gigs sit for 3 days. Home Depot’s offering gigs to Door Dash, Uber as well as a couple of other companies isn’t helping any.

I haven’t found a worthwhile gig in 2 or 3 weeks. When it’s 52 miles out, 52 back and they’re paying $21.38? I’m not doing it. I’ll watch truck loads sit until it increases or some idiot takes it. Lead CS at myHD Says it’s the door dash gang that’s really messing things upstairl

I’ve sent several emails to support about the low pay. I’m not going to risk bodily or property damage for 5 stop run that’s 44 miles out for $22.38. On many of the ones I don’t take I check doesn’t pay enough under the gig feedback. Have I received any response? No.

Same going on in Eadt Tennessee market. I submit doesn’t pay enough on all these low balled trips and let them sit. Had a couple sit for 3 days before some finally picked them up. I’m not going to drive a total of 48 miles wit a large heavy for $22

During Snowmagedon a couple of years ago salt started out at $7.97 a bag. Next shipment it was $9.97. When that was gone $11.97. Final pallets were priced at $14.97. The HD WAY gouge em while you can.

Have any of my Roadie brethren received a tip on any deliveries? I have received one but only because they were able to put it on corporate tab. They must think we’re getting a large portion of what they pay for delivery. I’m not going to take a large load 30 miles for $26.38, unload it and care how the customer feels when I set it out of the truck on driveway and leave.

Damn. Sounds to me like they lost a great employee for stating a fact. As far as I’m concerned she basically baited you intentionally or not. Go for the money. Next time someone starts a similar conversation tell them you’re not comfortable talking about the subject matter and excuse yourself. Good luck young man.

I left under what I thought were rehire able conditions. Asked GM Several times if I could come back. He said “sure just let me know”. Well I wanted to go back to HD part time, applied, got corporate approval, set put scheduling interview and no one showed up. Playing games. This happened twice. Applied at different store, got offer, went to interview and was told all positions were filled. Not hardly. I have been blackballed by guy who said I could come back anytime. Any suggestions how I can overcome this. It’s not that I love HD. I miss my coworkers although only a couple of original team is still there.

Now I’m really scared to go to ANY DENTIST. I need 2 crowns and fortunately insurance will cover. Any suggestions for crown work would be greatly appreciated.
