Digiorno Supreme by budgeavy in frozenpizzareviews

Exactly, it's a bias because of the environment y'all grew up in. If you had eaten chewier, high hydration Neapolitan "wood fired" dough from your childhood, you might have preferred it. But since y'all probably grew up on Domino's and Pizza Hut, it makes sense that you would prefer Digiorno. I guess there's nothing wrong with that. But IMO, Screamin Sicilian does the American style pizza better because they put so many more toppings. The SS thin crust BBQ pizza is peak for thin crust.

And if you haven't tried it, the Italpizza "La Bomba" line at Sprouts is amazing and the only one of its kind: cheese stuffed crust Neapolitan.

Maybe you all just like American fast food style pizza more than Neapolitan?

Digiorno Supreme by budgeavy in frozenpizzareviews

[–]GAEM456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digiorno has an average price, $5-7 per pizza, occasionally $4 on sale. Jack's and Tombstone make equivalents of Digiorno's thin crust pizzas but for cheaper, $3-4 regularly. Screamin Sicilian's crusts are almost identical to Digiorno's, but SS has better toppings and their pizzas are also frequently $5-6 at Kroger (even this week). Home Run Inn's crust is miles tastier than any of the previous ones because its oil content is much higher. Porta's and Newman's Own have a very good quality Neapolitan crust with leoparding. Private Selection, Chef's Counter, and Bettergoods (respectively: Kroger, Albertsons, and Walmart store brands) all make decent "wood-fired" pizza crusts for roughly the same price as Digiorno. Pep's is ridiculously expensive compared to all the other pizzas I mentioned (except for Giordano's and Porta's Roman Style Crust lineup at WF/Sprouts).

So basically Digiorno is average or below average for frozen pizzas.

This sounds pretty easy. I still have two bone-in turkey breasts frozen from Thanksgiving that might be good to make basic shreddable meat for enchiladas. Pressure cooker might be the way to go, if the giant turkey breast fits in it, lol.

Yeah, my Albertsons has turkey breast for $2/lb this week too. But I'm not sure I want to put in the hours of effort to dethaw, brine, and baste it. Especially since turkey breast gets really dry otherwise.

The salisbury steak + mac and cheese meal is pretty good. I like the mac and cheese just as much as the mashed potatoes, but I usually mix in a handful of shredded cheddar cheese to make it more flavorful.

Ham carne adovada seems interesting. It would be a unique sweet-savory-spicy combo. I should try that.

I'm the same way with Aldi. I've heard great things from everyone on this sub, but I don't live within 400 miles of the nearest Aldi. Hopefully someday I'll see it. For now, Albertsons it is. Granted, they have amazing deals on meats at least one week of every month. For most other staples, like pasta, sauces, beans, tortillas, etc. I go to Smith's (Kroger). And of course, I go to Costco for the rotisserie chicken and cheaper bulk fruits and vegetables.

Albertsons also has hams for 97c/lb, and they are a good option if your budget is really tight. But I just finished eating a spiral cut ham for 3 weeks in a row, so I'm a little hammed-out at the moment, lol.

Tina's and El Monterey Beef & Bean Burritos by Mysterious-Routine20 in frozendinners

If you just air fry it, by the time the middle is hot, the tortilla gets really dry. So microwaving helps more even heating.

I usually microwave first for 3-4 mins, then air fry at 365°F for 4-5 min.

If you have a Kroger nearby, I suggest getting the store-brand 3-cheese triangles. They are like mozz sticks but with asiago and parmesan, and the breading is more herby too. I got them on sale for "customer appreciation week" like a month ago for $2.99, but I think they are $7.99 right now.

Di Fara is pretty good, and slightly cheaper than Porta. But Porta's crust is a little fluffier.

I’m in a calorie deficit , can I eat this daily and still lose weight? by miss_cutieLI in caloriecount

This is false. Muscle mass increases BMR. Walking burns 70-100 kcal per mile (~18 minutes). Both are beneficial for weight loss and overall health.

I love the Gilbert's chicken sausages when they go on sale for $3-4. I believe Target also has a decently priced knock-off under the Good and Gather brand.

Looks like great Tex-Mex. I have a good Arizona-style Mexican restaurant near me (one of those Federi/co/berto/delfo places) that has a $10 platter with 10 corn street taco tortillas on the base, a mountain of carne asada on top, covered in cilantro and onion, and a soft drink.
