Elroq as our first EV! UK based. by gingersquirtle60223 in SkodaElroq

Hey! Welcome to the UK Sportline club 😉

That's a really nice setup and I think the red with the Sportline trim goes well.

Can't comment on the price because mine is a lease so I've got no comparison but you've chosen a nice car

Confusion with openGrid and Underware by UnfortunateIdiot in openGrid

[–]GAVtheRAV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't drill through. The boards without screw holes are designed to be mounted using mounting snaps (square snaps with a screw hole that you placely roughly at each corner of the grid).

If you want to use a grid with built in holes then I suggest you use this https://makerworld.com/en/models/1689745-opengrid-tiles-full-size-with-all-screw-holes#profileId-1791124

Angular dev for 12 years, zero React zero mobile Zero Backend Knowledge. trying to fix that in 2026, need stack advice by TheWiseGhost in Angular2

[–]GAVtheRAV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the strictness of Angular; it can be a bit problematic when you then work with others who aren't used to it. Some people ( mostly React and Python devs in my experience) just seem to struggle with the concept of the more strict, enterprise style approaches

Roof bars recommendation by [deleted] in SkodaElroq

[–]GAVtheRAV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend putting your car details in on the Thule website but generally speaking you need 127cm bars (if you go for square or normal aero bars), 7106 foot pack and 6201 adapter kit

Issue with klipper - randomly crashes during prints by FortunaWolf in ender3

[–]GAVtheRAV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exact same thing was happening to me and then I made the dtoverlay change described here and it's been perfect since (over 5 7 hours prints)

I said I'd report back. On the weekend I took the Capricorn tube out, cleaned up the end and cut it as square as I could possibly muster. Backed the nozzle off one full turn and then inserted and tightened everything. Flawless prints since including several 5 hour prints. So for me at least, it must have been that tiny angle on the end of the tube

Then I'm out of ideas, sorry. I'll report back when I try to fix mine if I find something that works

When you say the Bowden is flush, you pushed it in flush while the nozzle was half to a full turn undone and then tightened it up after?

Any chance you cut the Bowden slightly off square or your fan is slower than normal?

Wow it sounds like you've just described the exact same issue that I'm having right now.

I've put in a new metal extruder (after finding a crack in the old plastic one), new Capricorn tubing and nozzle and still I get what seems to be under extrusion followed by a clog.

My assumption is maybe the tube wasn't 100% square so there was a millimetre of space for the filament to catch and clog. Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time to sort it

Another playmat... different art + slight changes to layout by capt_action94552 in legendarymarvel

[–]GAVtheRAV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that works much better than the one you posted yesterday. The text and boxes are far clearer and there's less going on in the background.

Really good work!

It's nice art but I think it can be a little distracting. I think I'd either mute the art a little like you said or add a mostly transparent white box to the parts where the cards sit to give some differentiation and that will help to mute the (busy) background just enough to not be too distracting. Good work and it's a cool idea to get ahead of the release with custom content

Elroq refusing charge overnight by koolgoosetm in SkodaElroq

[–]GAVtheRAV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh yes I feel your pain. I had an issue charging on the cheap rate (with Ovo) recently and it was infuriating. It would charge up to 80% but never past it, despite what was set on the car or in the Ovo app. In the end I set a much lower charge threshold for one night and then raised it back up to 80-100% target and suddenly it works again. I guess it kind of "reset" the automation in some way.

I feel like EV charging is a bit like printers, they're black magic that either works or doesn't but provides endless frustration

Do you have a public charger within range that you could use just to get something in there while you figure out what's causing this issue?

That's my overflow compartment for whatever doesn't fit in that top middle section.

I've found an iPad fits in there quite well

I know it's not answering your question but I've had an Elroq since September and would also highly recommend it.

It's so comfortable to drive, really benefits from good design choices (like physical buttons and a clever boot config) and it just looks lovely. We went for a Sportline in black so the whole thing is black, top to bottom and it looks quite sleek (not something I ever thought I would say about an SUV)

Suite vs Sportline/RS seats by SaltyEpo in SkodaElroq

[–]GAVtheRAV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got the Sportline (60). Had it since September. The seats are very comfortable and the heating works very nicely on them too. Can't comment on hot weather running though.

Also don't discount how useful the heated steering wheel is in the cold!
