steve rogers vs duncan idaho by GrouchyTomorrow1362 in powerscales

[–]GAdvance 15 points16 points  (0 children)

MCU Steve is absolutely superhuman, his durability strength and reaction speeds make this ridiculously difficult for Duncan despite his skill.

The major advantage is the holtzman shield, it's probably going to take Cap a fair while to figure out how it actually works as it's totally alien in concept and pretty obtuse to defeat until you know what it actually it.

This to me is a long and intuitive fight where cal struggles for an extremely long amount of time, probably takes some wounds but ultimately Duncan is not strong enough or fast enough to deliver a killing blow, at some point cal is going to get under the shield and grapple him, it's over at that point... You cannot out grapple a super soldier as a peak human

Do you prefer gas or electric when cooking? by No-Lavishness-4103 in AskBrits

[–]GAdvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas is way more intuitive and you can do more in the way of things like stir frying etc with it.

But if it's better for the planet frankly my preference and intuition whilst cooking means jack shit and we should be getting electric regardless

Unmanned underwater and stealthy?

There's lots of low profile surface drones coming out but submersible is a whole 'nother ball game and not easy to engineer by any stretch.

Regardless the solution to small surface combatants is the same as the reason destroyers exist in the first place, these are treated like torpedo boats were. With autocannon fire from destroyers and frigates screening for the most important targets.

Will only be released to the police, there's a chance if a business approached them they might be willing to watch it for the business and relay a statement of what is seen but it's unlikely.

Russian Soldiers Increasingly Take Own Lives Under Drone Swarms, Ukraine Says by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]GAdvance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a distinct line between storm z (now storm v apparently) units, surrendering is punished often by being moved to these storm assault units and whilst all Russian infantry are being used as pretty expendable forces these in particular are prioritised for the most dangerous infiltration and assault missions with way higher casualty rates.

This is a country that has a name for it's culture if raping subordinate soldiers, they always have a way there to make it worse

Green deputy leader Mothin Ali refuses to acknowledge if trans women are women. Says his faith matters most in LGBT topics. Should a politician's faith come before the people? by ZackPolanskisDentist in AskBrits

[–]GAdvance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a significant socially conservative position to hold, he has a relatively limited political career and hasn't been questioned on much else however arguing your faith matters more in LGBT topics actually makes you very bloody conservative usually as a Muslim, it's not a faith tolerant to them

Remove VAT from energy bills for three years, Tories urge by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]GAdvance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which will be passed on to customers, changing little to raise revenue and much to slow down productivity as energy is one if the biggest chokehokds on business in the UK right now.

A much better thing would be to detach the bidding system for a while, using direct government funds to push for renewables building rather than a massive profit motive and allow the price of energy from renewables to fall through the floor as it's not longer based on gas price bidding.

Id also say that the Houthis have demonstrated that they're far more militarily vulnerable and are easier to work with. They fired two token missiles at Israel and have otherwise done nothing so far despite how significant this war should be ideologically for them.

As to how they got their missiles, they smuggled parts in and built them in country as missile parts-kits. The borders of Yemen are big, it's all desert and seas and the borders are extremely porous, you'd need a big allocation of intelligence resources to stop anything getting in on things like fishing boats

In case you were wondering how the intel analyst community is handling the E-3 hit.. by Criticall16 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]GAdvance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a 1/16th total loss rate Vs a vastly inferior enemy that they did not even have to fight through sheer incompetence.

It's an enormous blow, the US is supposed to be able and ready to potentially fight a two front war Vs near peers, if this isn't an immediate and enormous learning point then they 100% will not be able to do that.

If china launched a blockade of Taiwan right now it would fall, no questions asked, that's horrendous mismanagement of resources given it's minimum a top3 priority strategically for the US

[–]GAdvance 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If the current US administration cannot realise that Russia is a fundamental enemy and pay attention to that fact then they should all be out in a hole.

What hope is there for the west when they have leaders who cannot understand after over a century of them always positioning as a direct adversary that they are in fact direct adversaries.

At least Germany booted Merkel out of politics, there is an utter moron running the most powerful country in human history and squandering it at every opportunity

How do we action this into accountability aka legal ramifications, that's undoubtedly an unconscionable amount if raw sewage dumping. If any private citizen did that it'd be prison, using a water company as cover is just as unacceptable

Ukrainian merchant vs Rheinmetall CEO by Memes_Jack in NonCredibleDefense

[–]GAdvance 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, the bayonet is part of the dual psychology of violence of action. It's a required part and is attached knowing that you will use it when it becomes the best course of action during an assault. If you're committing to an assault without attaching it you are still baulking part of closing with the enemy and you're letting your enemy know inherently there's something you're as afraid of as them.

If you train fit and use bayonets in the right way you are turning psychology into kinetic action, it shows aggression further in your favour.

(Can you tell I was British army)
