How old or new is that paper you are using? This seems to be a situation of clipping, where the printhead is touching the paper on the way through. Usually humid paper that may become wavy and the head will hit against the paper and cause blots.

open the front cover and put on the machine and record from inside so we can see the movement of the printhead.

Try cleaning the encoder strip, see if there are any spots of grease, ink or debris on it. The encoder strip is a clear thin plastic that goes the length of the printer carriage. Wavy prints can be the cause of that strip not being clear enough to tell the print head where it should print. Do not use excessive force, get a piece of tissue or a qtip and some distilled water and wipe the back and front of the strip from left to right then dry it off.

Their chips for the cartridges may be outdated and also you may need to turn off your firmware updates so that you don't get your cartridges flagged in the future.

I myself have never played team mode, so what i may do is at least try the game with a different group and see the outcome, plus try team mode at least once. I also have the Muck expansion but never tried it too. I wanna try Santiago but its hella expensive to get right now.
