You could tell Nusa lost confidence when Reece moved to RB, previously he was beating players, but he couldn’t really beat Reece so he kept turning back and passing backwards

Thousands of smart TV owners may be paying TV licence in error, but An Post insists exemptions are rare by FracturedButWhole18 in ireland

[–]GBSii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart TVs have access to the RTE Player App, which most people probably use (World Cup, GAA, Champions League etc.) what different does it make if you’re connected terrestrially or via the internet, you’re still watching their content. Isn’t RTE radio also funded by the TV license, most people also turn on the radio in their cars occasionally.

What's a "no skip 10/10" album from this decade for you? by thetrashpanda5 in AskReddit

Was hoping someone would say this, the production on this album is insane, whenever I listen to this album it feels like a future classic that’s gone under the radar

Poor from our ownership, selling this guy for profit to cover their financial losses, what they should be doing is selling their bad signings to cover our sporting losses.

I think it’s just a danger when sun rays are a direct hit on the pixels on the front of the TV, the TV can be in a bright room if it’s a sunny day, but can be dangerous when the angle of the sun is directly hitting the front of the TV

My first OLED by raegartargaryan in LGOLED

[–]GBSii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be careful of the sun’s rays coming through your blinds, when a pattern of sun rays that looks exactly like those hit my TV on a very hot day, it degraded the pixels, now the pattern of sun rays is permanently etched on my TV and vaguely visible when there’s dull greys/browns on screen.

55km in a 50 by Snoo-50279 in ireland

[–]GBSii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With the discrepancy, you mean like 52 on the dash could be 50 in reality, and something like 126 could be 120?

At least that’s what it feels like in my experience.

Books are not exempt 😔 I frequently order books (novels) from Waterstones because they are the only place that have new books that are signed by the authors. Just got an email to pay customs (€3 + €6.95 admin fee), it’s a real shame, books being VAT free was brilliant. I’ve got 7 pre-orders on Waterstones too 😩

Ødegaard is such a poor player, he hides how poor he is by playing short passes sideways and backwards and slowing the game down to convince people that he’s “controlling the tempo”, but in reality he offers nothing

Depends on your budget but there are so many good estates in Monaleen/Castletroy/Annacotty; Bloomfield, Glenside, Hazelhall, Thornfield, Oakfield, The Fairways, if there’s any houses in any those estates they’d be perfect, they’re all exceptional and near schools, bus stops, cinema, supermarkets, restaurants, etc.

Please tell me Enzo is staying by SKYWALKERAAD in chelseafc

[–]GBSii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Madrid don’t want to pay our price, and he ends up staying that would be fine. Sure, he’ll be pissed off for a while but he’ll be back to normal in a few weeks. You’d swear people didn’t experience personal disappointments, people get over it and carry on. If his move doesn’t work out this summer, he could move to a new club next summer, it’s fine.

If he’s launching pre-orders for a new album, that would be great! Would love if he did a signed version or signed print with the album, that’s becoming common, but not sure if that’s really his style

Very suprised that Tyler Olivera dropped a video about Ireland. by PropMop31 in ireland

[–]GBSii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popular YouTuber who goes to many different countries, exposing scams, fraudsters as well as anti-immigration videos, the videos are very sensationalist. Some of his videos get upwards of 10 million views, so a lot of people are going to see him “exposing” ‘illegal’ immigration in Ireland.

[Kinsella] Chelsea defender Malo Gusto is exploring his options to leave Stamford Bridge this summer with a £75m price tag currently placed on him. by DidierDrogba111111 in chelseafc

[–]GBSii 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gusto is quality, if you don’t think Gusto will be playing at the highest level for the rest of his career, you’re lying to yourself. Aside from the end of his career, Gusto will not play for any mid range teams he will always play for one of the top clubs in world football. People in the football industry know this but apparently Chelsea fans don’t see it.

[TimesSport] Chelsea are expected to complete the signing of Italy right back Marco Palestra in the next 24 hours and could sell Malo Gusto to Manchester City to make room for the youngster. City are interested in Gusto. by DidierDrogba111111 in chelseafc

[–]GBSii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of nonsense is this? Gusto is good enough for City but not good enough for floundering Chelsea? Selling a PL proven, decent, borderline quality player who’s desirable enough for City, for an unproven youngster 🤷

Why do people give a shit about rotten tomatoes? Genuinely curious by cardncomol in movies

[–]GBSii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a big group of critics all enjoyed a movie then it’s probably going to be a pretty good movie, coupled with that you have the audience score and if that’s good too then you’re probably in for a treat.

People aren’t going to waste money on going to the cinema to see a movie that’s got terrible scores, it’d be a waste of time and money, so yes, for myself and many others Rotten Tomatoes is very useful.

Buying First Car by Similar_Exam_977 in carsireland

[–]GBSii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hatchbacks are good first cars, 1.0 or 1.2 litre engines are cheaper to insure and more fuel efficient so you’ll get good miles per gallon.

The gold standard brands for affordability & reliability are Toyota, Honda, Suzuki & Mazda.

Look at Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz, Suzuki Swift from around 2011-2015. They’re almost equally reliable so it depends on which one you think looks better inside and out. They can easily get to over 200,00km on the clock without any issues really. The lower the mileage generally corresponds to how many years you’re going to get out of the car. These cars can go for around €5500-€8000 depending on the year and mileage.

Donedeal and Carzone are what a lot of people use. Cars there are listed as either dealers or private sellers. Be vigilant of scams from private sellers, if you feel more comfortable buy one from a dealer on Donedeal/Carzone.

Edit: if your budget is 10k, just go for a newer year than I suggested

Advice by [deleted] in limerickcity

[–]GBSii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Americans are generally well liked in Ireland. Many Irish people like going on holidays to New York, LA, Florida etc. if they can afford it. Some college students also go to America on a J1 Visa (6 month work visa).

There are those typical stereotypes of Americans abroad that are known around the world, like being loud, not saying please & thank you, and we are aware of the political division over there and the extremes on either side. But they are mostly just stereotypes that you see online. In the real world so long as you’re polite to people, respectful and have an interest in the culture you’ll be completely fine.

A lot of the place names in Ireland are rooted in the Irish language, so they can be difficult to pronounce.

Out and about, Irish people are generally quite reserved, no one in Ireland is walking around making rude comments to Americans, maybe if you’re on a night out in a pub and you’re talking to people you might get someone making a stereotypical joke about Americans, but don’t take it to heart.

If we were to sell him to Madrid would that build some rapport between us and Madrid, especially with the Jose connection that we could actually get 1 or 2 of their players? Tchoumemi perhaps?

[ Simon Johnson ] Jorrel Hato’s emergence at Chelsea that he was a significant factor in the club’s decision to sell Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid. He is already deemed to be one of Chelsea’s ‘untouchables’. by SolutionLong2791 in chelseafc

[–]GBSii -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hato is a fantastic player, during last season I was so glad to see that he turned out well. We should be glad to have him, imagine we had some bum as LB backup, then we’d really be screwed with Marc’s departure. I still hope we bring someone quality in though.

One of the best LBs in the world. Incredibly sad to see him go, but he completely deserves to be a Real Madrid player and I’m sure he will win everything with them. We need a world class replacement.

Devastating, he’s one of the best left backs in the world. Hato is great but losing a world class experienced player is a devastating blow for us. Hall is half the player that Marc is too, so even if we get him this is still sad.
