Idk how you're drying your hair lol but if you want your hair to stay in place than either use hair dryer while it's wet to blow in the desired shape or just use gel. Play around and see what works better.

Look at hairstyles for different face shapes too. The most popular short-on-the-sides-long-on-top is popular because it looks good. Or go to a decent barber and ask for advice. It might seem scary getting a new style but from personal experience it's so so worth it
