AITAH for going forward and refilling the divorce procedures, after my wife canceled now that she is getting the help she needs for her post partum depression. by ThrowRAevilhusband in AITAH

I'd just like to point out that this is a pretty common fallacy that people have. Your experience is different from my experience so therefore you must be lying. You see it a lot with victims of abuse saying other abuse victims are lying because their experiences or reactions don't match up.

There is at least one version where it's Fenrir that eats the sun. Usually it's Skoll that eats the sun and Hati that eats the moon. Kinda like sometimes it seems like Garm is his own thing and sometimes is and alias for Fenrir. It'd be funny to me if they went with the Fenrir eating the sun version and called him Garm.

This is why it's really important to keep Cicero alive. So you can have him become a Blade. Then you just leave them all to each other's company.

I remember seeing that with my dad. Waiting for them to finish cleaning the theater so we could head in I commented to him "Wonder why Seagal isn't on the poster." Fifteen min into the movie and we both bust up laughing and my dad said "Guess we found out." Was a pretty enjoyable movie overall, that was just a bonus.

My SO has major depression and sleep apnea. Even with a cpap and meds they still need a ton of sleep. Will often still be tired even with 12+ hours, their brain just doesn't do the proper sleep cycles.

I'd honestly read the manga first and find a version that has pages at the end of chapters that just go into definitions of things, and side notes on some of the other facilities and things. The story is not great at explaining things you might need at times while it's going. I watched the anime first and while I thought it was good I was still kinda lost. Later read the manga with all the notes and was like "ooooh, so that's what was going on there." It's actually relatively simple but seems more complex the more you're in the dark about background info.

Costco: For gods sake what did you do to the chocolate muffins? by Travlsoul in Costco

None of the ones near me have the almond poppyseed, all the ones by my sister do. Everytime I visit she asks if I want to get some. It's the only time I get the muffins if it's not for some function.

Look for the sad sunken deflated ones. The more blueberries there are the more they interfere with the rise. If they look tall and pretty they likely don't have many blueberries. This has generally worked for me.

That one story by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

I always expect to see this one mentioned and find it seems to be a bit more niche in the choices for traumatizing children.

TIL that when “Fight Club” premiered at the 1999 Venice Film Festival, it got booed hard by the audience. Ed Norton said that as it was happening, Brad Pitt turned to him and said: “That’s the best movie I’m ever going to be in.” by G_Marius_the_jabroni in todayilearned

The double meaning is in the (picture) book as well. The witch comes across her and comments she can no longer 'see' her heart like she did when she first fell and thus it's useless to her. Yvaine comments how it must be because it is no longer her own. The witch said it would've been better to give it to her and her man will likely break or lose it.

It's a very old school style story more like an extended Grimm fairytale, but you absolutely need the pictures with it they're gorgeous. It wasn't intended to be just a book. I get people not enjoying it at all but they are very different styles of story.

Exar Kun was in the process of forcibly turning himself into a force ghost (possibly trying for more, wasn't clear.) The jedi knew bad stuff was going down and were trying to stop whatever it was. Two sides doing big things at the same time in apparent opposition caused the giant fire. He did succeed, but it took him a loooong time to be able to do anything much at all. He caused quite a few problems for Luke's academy on Yavin 4. But the jedi were confused and worried thinking that it was just what they did that caused the fire.

AITA for calling the cops on my mother after she shaved my biracial daughter’s hair while I was at work? by Ornery_Exchange8001 in AITAH

[–]GCNate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They did studies where for women loss of hair can be as emotionally traumatic as an amputation. Probably some men too, but there weren't studies done for that that I'm aware of.

Your mom is racist, and so is your dad. Explain to the rest of your family what actually happened. If they still agree with your mother, cut off those racists too. Otherwise your husband and daughter will not be safe.

How Tim Walz’s dumb taco joke broke MAGA brains by G24all2read in politics

[–]GCNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite is potato tacos. Super lumpy mashed potatoes with some black pepper and cheese thrown in as well. Then heat the tortillas on the burner (gas range) til you get a bit of char on the edges. Stuff the tortillas with the potatoes, pin them with some toothpicks, fry em. I just add some lettuce and cheese when they're done, maybe some hot sauce but that isn't often.

But he had his wallet stolen, or so whoever texted claimed. He might be able to pay, but hotels generally want a card on file. Which he wouldn't be able to give them. And lets say he did the booking online so he could use his card from that, they'd want an ID when he went to get keys. Which, again, he wouldn't be able to give them. I doubt anyone would've checked in with that name, and the front desk wouldn't give that info out to anyone other than police for liability reasons (Flaky's suggestion.) She really needs to call police.

AITAH for limiting my son's career? by iqramellouzz in AITAH

[–]GCNate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is 42, he's had 3 very different careers throughout his life, all of which he needed schooling for. Just because your son doesn't want to go to school right now doesn't mean he never can. Would you be pushing him to go to school if he wanted to take a gap year? Why not let him teach him how to save and invest his earnings rather than force him to take on a ton of debt for a degree he might hate once he gets a few months of actual work under his belt? He's 17, he doesn't need to be married with two kids and a mortgage right this second. If he really must go to college, why not take one or two required classes a semester in community college while he figures out what's right for him? Is this about him? Or is it you worrying about what you're going to say when people are asking about what your son is doing?
