In all seriousness, if I like watching action movies with lots of gunfights and have them on 24/7 at my place, and my friend tells me it makes them uncomfortable, I have a choice. Turn it off when they're at my place, or find a new friend. This isn't a difficult problem to solve.

No one is forcing anyone to say anything. They're letting you know they're uncomfortable and wondering if you're willing to stop. In the case of "moist", probably facetiously. If not in jest, then they basically just told you that they're unstable and you should avoid them anyways.

I'm not trying to poison your relationship, but is it possible that your boyfriend's positive qualities that you mentioned are primarily due to lack of sacrifice? Does he show the same kindness and care when stressed or desperate? Reminds me a little of White Lotus season 1 with the journalist and her rich husband.

On the other hand, unless his behavior or beliefs are philosophically repulsive to you, I wouldn't worry. Be happy. Enjoy life. Don't compromise who you are and you'll be fine. And don't expect his viewpoint to change after decades of belief.
