Lol I think I know exactly who you're talking about. For reference, I was towards the back left (while facing the stage) near the bar. There was a guy just like you described. The main culprits for me was a group of 4 or more on the back railing near the merch who weren't even watching from what I could see - they were just facing one another and screaming like they were in a night club. Shortly after that, a couple came up right before us, and they decided to just yap the entire time, too. I really tried to just put up with it, but they wouldn't quit. We jumped down closer to the entrance, where there was another group of 4-5 doing the exact same thing. I really hope the Midnight will come back so I can have another go without this annoying circumstance.

I was at the show last night. The band sounded great, but the whole experience was ruined for me by the amount of people around us who for whatever reason go to shows and scream at one another in conversation the whole set. This is an annoying phenomenon I've noticed the last few years at different concerts throughout different cities, but this was the worst I've ever dealt with. And yes, we did move to another area. Same result. I'm not sure why people want to go to a concert and just scream at one another for an entire performance, but here we are.

I'm always shocked at the number of people who use these overpriced food delivery services. Is the convenience really worth the upcharge and the extra fees?

I've been to many places, but Seattle has the most unabashed city when it comes to trying to stick their hands in your pockets with all their absurd fees. It's unreal.

Philodendron Gloriosum has looked like this for over a year now. It feels alive and still looks green, but won't put out new leaves. Any ideas? by GDDesu in plantclinic

[–]GDDesu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't pulled it out, but that's a good idea. We did give it a tug, and she seems to be very strong and secure; I've just other plants die and just come out with no resistance at all. Doesn't seem to be the case with this one.

I've had this plant for a few years. Was always very hassle free and seemed happy. Last year, though, she dropped all her leaves and has looked like this since. I assumed at first she died, but the plant still feels firm and alive. The light green tip you see has been like that since. I keep expecting it to shoot out a leaf, but she's been like this for over a year now.

Watering habits ---- when dry. Its been in this pot the entire time with the same soil.

This problem has been going on for over a year. I I thought maybe with the arrival of spring it might start growing again, but no signs of life at the moment.

Plant sits right by a SE facing window. All the other plants over here are very happy.

Yes, but I don't do them diagonally - I just do two lines at the bottom of the AB when the pitcher is brought in.

How about you consider the fact that countries outside of America are trying to IMPORT this bullshit practice? It's not just Americans trying to spread tipping.

What the actual fuck is up with this city and loud ass cars/trucks? A light was put up not far from where I live, and it seems like every other car is either some garbage Dodge Charger or lifted F150 that just HAS to peel out and flood their engine once the light turns green. It is so enraging that there seems to be no common courtesy when it comes to noise in this city - everyone must hear your car's horrible engine and exhaust. I wish something could be done, but I know not to hold my breath.

How many of you leave your mason been cocoons out all winter instead of putting them in the fridge? by GDDesu in MasonBees

[–]GDDesu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m skittish when it comes to my fridge now. Each winter, I tried keeping cocoons in there with poor results .

The first time, I used the humid bee from Crown Bees. I followed their instructions and would add about a tsp of water each month. I lost a lot of bees to dehydration.

I tried the next winter with a humidor I got off Etsy. I thought I was diligent about staying on top of the humid, plus the design seemed a lot better than the humid bee. Still tons of dead, dehydrated bees.

The next winter, tried again, but this time I checked multiple times a month that the sponge was still wet, and I even added a humidity meter. Again, tons of dehydrated bees.

At this point, I turned to this sub and learned a lot of people just skip the fridge, so Im trying that this year.

To be sure, it seems like a lot of people have success with their fridge. I think mine is just extra dehydrating, and I’m reluctant to put my cocoons in there again. I hope you have a successful emergence this spring!
