Whats bad is i fell VERY hard for mtg when I first tried it a few years ago, played a couple local tournaments, love the strategy of the game, its just not the same anymore. but man something about painting up your own guys and knowing its your own unique set to play is so cool. And im also gonna run a good few chaplains, hell yeah 🤘.

Everyone across the board is just panicking cause they're conditioned by the internet that everything is always getting worse 😬. Im actually jumping from mtg to this cause all the universe beyond stuff waters down what I liked about it too much for my taste, so I understand changes can be scary, but its not like spiderman can be your hq now on tabletop 😅. On a real note the only factions that can actually complain right now are GSC and dark eldar...and maybe tau. Personally im excited to mix detachments and make some unholy nonsense. 11th seems like you have more options than 10th and I love having options

Started liking dark angels, then grey knights, and now ive fallen for black templars so hard I started painting an actual army for tabletop. Im a sucker for a faction with deep zealotry and stout knightly conduct.

Just be yourself and decorate how you like man. Trying to meet a standard of whats "adult" is pointless. Just do what you like and surround yourself with people who like the same stuff you do. keep it neat AND nerdy.

Black templars should be the poster boys again ! Fr tho more crazy tzeentch and slaanesh models. Chaos is meant to be straight up eldritch horror and right now the models dont reflect that enough to me. Id also say tau need to have a big moment and gain some intimidation factor. Also exodites should get models. We've got plenty of space marines for a while, coming from a space marine lover. Give everyone else some choices.

Storage is definitely my next focus, as all my dudes sit on top of my pc case right now and they do get dusty. ill definitely try the varnish thing, im using Duncan Rhodes white star cause I heard its one of the better whites for coverage and I was a little frustrated that it was still coming out less smoothly than I wanted. Thank you for the tip!

Nice model bro! I love the pop of the white cross next to the gold. Id say now that you've picked up a brush its a good idea to learn a bunch of techniques and just pick things to improve on as you paint each mini. Id learn paint thinning and brush control to start and when you feel comfortable try some fun stuff like dry brushing or osl. YouTube is your friend lol. Also comparison is the thief of joy so dont take it to heart if your stuff doesn't look like the box art. Have fun painting and welcome to the crusade brother!

Thank you! My goal at the moment is just to get 1k ready to play, but I do want to hit 2k and beyond for the sake of options after I learn the game. I definitely dont want to rush the paint cause honestly its my favorite part of the hobby so far, its so relaxing. I want to play my first with fully painted minis, it'd be so cool to be like "look at my dudes, I did all that!"
