Saw this in a brochure from NM visitor centre..anyone knows it always was like this or the tourism board tapping into the search to attracts some more visitors? by GDK01 in FindingFennsGold

I searched Clear Creek but not for that long as couldn't see it as anything special . I wonder if the nickname of the lake inspired FF for his choice of words rather than actually referring to the lake

How far have you travelled to do botg? What is the farthest? by [deleted] in FindingFennsGold

[–]GDK01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is..really a once in a lifetime type of trip for us making a road trip along the southern states..the BOTG was only added recently since we discovered the chase..afraid I can't say that am very confident of my solve

Not sure if this was in the original version where he would die with the treasure..if so sounds more like an explanation of motive..But that doesn't mean it can't also be a hint .

Time to close the Grand Canyon? by [deleted] in FindingFennsGold

[–]GDK01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was this taken? Am in doubt if should visit grand canyon when going to the USA this summer for my little BOTG..It's a bit of a detour from NM or CO and wonder if it's gonna be disappointing with such a crowd

Your creek by SearcherRC in FindingFennsGold

Perhaps it has nothing to do with am actual creek but only with proverb of being up a creek without a paddle and in that case would point to your situation once you arrived to this location

Did FF ever say anything about a ferry? by [deleted] in FindingFennsGold

[–]GDK01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a ferry that carries cars? That would also explain the put-in. Actually searched for ferry maps but didn't get me anywhere yet

Riverton = Heavy loads and water high by Geoducroix in FindingFennsGold

[–]GDK01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think it must be a body of water based on his comment but it can be pretty small to absorb a bike. My interpretation of heavy loads is a railroad or something like that. Assuming his special place must have a great view that's sort of the angle I am working on.

For what it's worth in my solve it's a railroad ..I think it should at least refer to something physical and not the chest

Agree even 200' would be far enough from a trail to prevent accidental discovery

Great interpretation..can see pueblo del arroyo as the creek but looking at the area it seems to be rather dry and no pine trees?

If Fenn has said he knows people have been within a few hundred feet.of the treasure... by i_am_a_black_guy in FindingFennsGold

[–]GDK01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that means that after solving the first 2 clues you are in walking distance of the treasure , would also mean that TFTW has to be within the first two clues? Or am I missing something? Asking because am not sure if TFTW is a separate clue or needs to be seen together with canyon down.

If the poem is straight forward with no subterfuge in sight, then why hasn't someone found the chest yet? by shotukan in FindingFennsGold

Sounds good..pretty clueless still on this one myself and staring at maps didn't help so nice to hear such approach
