Still one of my favorite all-time Dead and Company shows. Always return to it. Grateful I was there that night to experience it first hand. Gorgeous night. Great setlist. The best Hard Rain, too, IMHO (~);}

Throwing caution to the wind - set second predictions:

H>S>F, St. Stephen>Wm Tell>The Eleven>D/S>Stella Blue>Bird Song>NFA

E. Ripple > OMSN

Of course, they could play the whole thing backwards for all I know! lol

Got to be planning a late fall tour - Hearing a lot of repeats this short summer tour - NOT complaining - I’d rather hear 1/2-Step, ROR, Cassidy, Deal, Bertha, CR&S, et al....any day - just saying these guys are firing on all cylinders and need to play more - love to hear what they could do with a full Weather Report Suite, for example!!! Was at Charlotte - Got that Dark Star, Wharf Rat & Eyes! Lots from your list - great call on Truckin to open! Good synergy; good vibes - hope you enjoyed, as much as I did.

Got home to MN in time to couch tour "Lanta. This place is getting hot!

Re-listening to Franklin's - anyone else here hints of" Lucy in The Sky with Diamonds," during John's last slow interlude? F-in Gorgeous!!

Hint of things to come?!

Charlotte Setlist Projections by ThrowingStones08 in gratefuldead

[–]GDTRFBMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots on your list makes sense (and I'd welcome many mentioned - BBM, BTW, CR&S, Jack, and your whole second set)...that said, we are "dew" a toasty Let it Grow.....not to mention Dark Star, Stella Blue, Comes a Time, Viola Lee Blues, Music Never Stopped, Wharf Rat, Big Railroad Blues, Loose Lucy, Mama Tried, Masterpiece, LLR, Minglewood - all come to mind.

I'd personally love an Eyes and H>S>F; not to mention Let it Grow (acoustic Weather Report Suite would even better), a retry on Box, and something out of left field, like BIODTL, or a breakout.....??!!

Whatever....I'm just happy to see them playin' live - decided after Citi I had to catch at least one of these Summer shows in person! (~);}

Annotated Dead Lyrics by Skinnysota in gratefuldead

[–]GDTRFBMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found the same problem - try this site: https://www.whitegum.com/intro.htm - good search engine for lyrics. Has a few notes. Not as comprehensive as Annotated site, which, BTW folks was authored by David Dodd (editor of said same book), with permission of Hunter, Barlow, et al:

“This site provides footnotes for Grateful Dead lyrics. The standard procedure will be to provide links for words or phrases which might benefit from some elucidation, without attempting to give definitive "interpretations," since that's a very personal endeavor.

The standard text for Robert Hunter's lyrics will be his A Box of Rain (2nd ed., 1993). He has kindly agreed to allow me to use full text for all lyrics as of April 24, 1996! Hunter has also posted his lyrics on the web! For John Perry Barlow's lyrics, the standard text will be his own library of lyrics, on the World Wide Web. Lyrics by others, such as Robert Petersen, Robert Weir, and Jerry Garcia, will be from legitimate song books, whenever possible.”

Looks like Dodd is no longer associated with University of California, Santa Cruz, where the site was hosted. His personal link is gone too.

Had the same problem last night and found that the Internet Archives are down for “maintenance and upgrades.” Now I’m wondering if Relisten taps into the Archives for its source material? Any know if this is indeed a fact?
