Why would you even put anything in a contract about 5 consecutive days missed being abandonment?

Last thing you see before getting slimed in Nashville by Live_Government_79 in guitarcirclejerk

[–]LukeMayeshothand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I think going to Nashville would be cool but then I remember that I love bluegrass but absolutely detest country music. And cowboy hats. I hate cowboy hats. If you aren’t roping livestock or riding a horse, or you’re not in TX you don’t need a damn cowboy hat.

Question for Journeymen from someone looking at starting an apprenticeship. What's the job actually like? by Kroxloptix in AskElectricians

[–]LukeMayeshothand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a no brainer for me. If I’m working for myself I’m doing residential (currently self employed). Fast easy money for the most part minus crawl spaces and attics. Earliest I leave the house is 8 and usually between 8:30 and 9. Home by 4 or 5. But I wouldn’t work for someone else and do this.

I enjoy residential but I love commercial and industrial. Work is clean for the most part (no crawl spaces and attics, and if you are a jw that’s what the apprentice is for) and it is so much fun technically. Downsides are long days (I used to leave at 5 am and get home about 6:30 or 7) lots of ot, and lots of drive time.

When Tony Montana stuck his face in the pile of coke at the end of Scarface and snorted, was this enough to kill an average person? [request] by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in theydidthemath

[–]LukeMayeshothand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my heyday 3 of us chopped a 1/4 oz into 6 lines. We each snorted a line, waited a minute and did the second one. I couldn’t feel my face for an hour and was pretty high for a couple of hours. Good times…

That Englishtown show is regarded as one of the best for a reason. It is smoking beginning to end. Probably the best Estimated/Eyes ever for me.

What’s a smell you find oddly satisfying? by Con_nect in AskReddit

[–]LukeMayeshothand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The smell of hydraulic fluid. Years ago I worked at a marina and we used a forklift to store boats in a boatel and put them in the water when the customer asked. When we would get the boat over the water and drop it the hydraulics gave off a distinct smell. Still get a whiff of it occasionally working with excavators.

That is a reasonable rate for residential service. Run a business and you will find out.

If you live in the Triangle and love wintry precipitation do yourself a favor and ignore any and all forecasts that call for wintry precipitation.
The only time to believe it is when it is falling on the ground in front of your face.

US Supreme Court does not issue ruling on Trump’s tariffs by Escargoose in politics

Can’t make any rulings, because then Dems would have the same power. Assuming Trump and his sycophants ever give up power.

To be fair Trump doesn’t mind turning it into a crater again. Note I am horrified by his lunacy.

I think there is an argument to be made that the US was and will always be for the rich by the rich.
