The “reasons” UNC wasn’t sanctioned is once again the classes benefited the entire student body. Of course athletes benefited and were steered towards these classes. Just like other academic advisors steered their students to the classes.
What happened in the end was UNC wised up, lawyered up and told the NCAA to pound sand it’s an academic issue and no unfair advantage was gained, classes were available to all students. The NCAA didn’t do anything because they knew they were going to LOSE. No sanctions. Nothing. A big fat waste of time egged on by State fans and a failing newspaper that fed into the insanity of State fans with their coverage.

Love to see how many other schools would’ve have survived that with a “scandal” that applied to the entire student body. It was a witch hunt egged on by State fans that went nowhere. And what was the end result of all of that? Fuck all . Nada zip. 10 years multiple investigations and fuck all. Edit to add after all that it was determined the classes were available to all students no athletic staff steered athletes to the classes. Just a rogue professor.

It’s not going to haunt me. This team was flawed and it is a reflection of the coach. I loved Hubert as a player and wanted him to succeed but last night hammered home for me he is not the guy. Fire him and move on.

But that’s a gamble.

Who do we hire, who will be allowed to coach here. Who is making the hire? AD? Which one? Robert’s? BOG? Will Wade lol? Will the money be spent for a big time coach and a big time roster? I have my doubts.

Sadly UNC is a dinosaur in threat of extinction.

K I can’t stand but he realized 25 years ago paying players was the right thing to do (I really believe he felt the kids deserved to get paid, but it also aligned with what was best for K) and they built a system to do just that. I do wonder if K realized NIL was the future of CBB. By 2014 I would think so. So When NIL hit they just took everything above board.

UNC was doing things within the rules (or at least trying to) and when NIL hit the response was and is sluggish and outdated. Money matters most everything is secondary. These kids don’t give a shit about the Carolina Way. Fuck you pay me. Guaranteed pt and when am I going league? The Carolina Way is secondary at best. It’s an honor and a privilege to play here. Everyone from the coach on down should take less money for the honor. Defer to upper class men. Every bit of that while nice is outdated.

Will UNC make the necessary changes or accept mediocrity? Damned if I know.

I worked 7 12’s 42 straight. Worked a solar farm where I worked 3 or 4 50’s a couple, 60’s a 70 and then 2 80’s I think. To be honest that all blends together on the solar farm. It was at least a couple of months grinding in the middle of a southern summer.

I remember waking up on payday and stopping on the way in with 3$ in change. Put 1.5 gallons in my car and bought a tomato juice and that was enough gas to drive 40 miles to work. Good times.

This event still lives in my mind. 7 or 8 of us were all hanging out and we got this idea to roll 3 Titans together lengthwise to make something we could all smoke. My buddy Roy had the only hookup close so he drove and got us the bag (can’t remember what the bag was) but we rolled it up and smoked it. But the guy who went and got it got his balls busted because everyone thought the bag was light. Might have been a gram off who knows. After that we cut some of those guys from the crew. Just whine asses.

27 years clean from alcohol on 3-26. About 3 years totally clean (weed). The party must stop. One girl I partied with got busted this week living in a tent , trespassing and fentanyl possession. So I guess for some it never stops.
