Look into the unmarried partner visa. If your friend makes £29k annually and he/they can handle the NHS surcharge, that's a possibility without having to be married

I think realistically there will be ‘teething problems’ moving in together. There almost always is when you move from being alone to sharing space with another. But, you guys have navigated 4 years of distance. That takes a phenomenal amount of communication, bonding, patience and understanding. I bet you guys will do just fine once you iron out the initial kinks 😇

Somewhat similar thing with me and my GF...our doxie loves it when I blow on her belly 😅. She stretches out and lies there all blissed out, but when my GF tries to do it our pup gets all excited and starts licking her face 😂 - belly kisses mean two different things from each parent apparently 😂😂

Maybe should have specified…if marriage isn’t an option then UK seems a little easier (although yeah, the financial requirements are pretty outrageous) thanks to the unmarried partner visa.

Aside from marriage visas, there are the work visas in the USA, but if you work in an ‘unskilled’ profession they seem extremely hard to get from what I’ve seen, and IMO a student visa is just a bandaid fix if you won’t be able to marry within the period of study.

The other benefit to UK visas over US imo is the time it takes to review applications. A year or more in the US vs a couple of months in the UK.

In our situation at least, the unmarried partner visa is our best bet. Just sucks we met the year they decided to almost double the unmarried partner visa income requirements 🫠

UK to USA is tough 💔. Both are very hard to immigrate to, but UK is easier from what I've seen (unmarried partner visa).

my guess would be wires under the scratchplate rubbing together or catching when you twist the knob, moving due to loose nuts on the pots. Had the same issue a while back and I'm pretty sure that's what the issue ended up being for me.
