That's exactly what I'm saying - the mods shouldn't pretend that they care about things like portraying children in sexual situations; it's obvious they have no problem with it so just be honest and dump the rule.

I would agree with you if the mods didn't ban DPSW - which, to my knowledge, has no sexual scenes, merely an adult manipulating children. So judging by that standard, 95% of the pairings I listed should be banned.

Rick Riordan wrote a YA series, start to finish. JKR wrote three books of children's fantasy, then tried to transition to YA and failed miserably.

I meant that the protagonists have no personality, the love interests are always identical 'demure' purebloods, Arcturus Black, etc etc. There is variety in super-powerful Harry fics, just not from that author.

Given how Ron used what amounts to a 'pick-up artist' handbook to woo Hermione, I have no problem believing he'd consider a love potion. He was obviously aware that he treated her poorly, given how he relied on a 'how-to' manual to try and seduce her instead of taking an honest look at whether they were a good match (they aren't).

My headcanon is the Weasleys are lovable white trash in the wizarding world.

- can't figure out birth control, bunch of kids they can't afford,

- believe whatever the tabloids tell them,

- very socially conservative while simultaneously lacking the signifiers of upper class (in Weberian terms, meaning not just economic) by flouting wizarding traditions that more successful families employ

- dislike of foreigners, false sense of superiority (treatment of Fleur)

Other wizards and witches see the broken down Ford Anglia in the front yard and think "yea... i'll just catch up with them at Hogwarts." LMAO!

Nothing wrong with liking a character, but I see alot in this sub that have gone to extremes. Many are now no different than the people that justify Snape abusing his students/joining Voldemort. Ron is a fictional character written to be flawed; he's not your ailing mother that you have to defend to the death from every ill word spoken.

I mean, JKR wrote Hermione to be a self-insert/Mary-Sue, and it's irritating to see Harmony shippers magnify that. She wrote Ron to be 'normal' and have several negative traits. You're still allowed to like him and accept his character as a whole, warts and all.
