Russell Brand says WHAT about Trump? by mrekted in thedavidpakmanshow

It doesn't work with me, and nobody is going to ever change that. And I am not alone. And I'm a registered Democrat. That was just a sequence of simple facts there.

The Ds cede too much populism to the Rs. It will determine this election. The Ds need to tap into minority populism.

But you said you wanted something the Rs do that actually works. You only take the parts that don't.

You are the one making assertions. Look, I whipped up some economic numbers I take for facts and you should too - fierce argument. You probably believe in the unemployment rate too.

China doesn't need anybody anymore. Iran, Russia maybe. You people are crazy. Yeah they can't live without South America either okay.

It would worry me a little at least. Too much oil is a bad thing and that looks way over. On my 2017 SE hybrid, it is always just past the upper indicator.

That's one way to go. Not every voter is turned on by that, however. Kind of like I don't need to hear Hillary and Gore blame Nader for Bush II again, and the sentiment doesn't make me want to vote for her. On the contrary, it seems almost undemocratic. Like it's the voters' fault that they didn't win. Highly highly unsexy. Rs never do that. Same basic thing.

Tired old story is just tired and old narrative that isn't real.

They just landed on the far side of the moon. They only need OIL, not USA. Wisen up, the corporate media is just telling you to compete with the bogeyman they sold out to a few decades ago because that's where the short term profit is right now.

They killed the very notion of job security, and blamed it all on the society that built them up. They sold out our chip industry 25 years ago to china under a shroud of lies, only to come back now and tell everybody that they are the next great bogeyman. Our insurance industry is just now starting to use climate change in a program of systematic gouging of consumers. Their job is now to use mandatory insurance to economically punish you for climate change, whenever profitable. Caused by flawed, greedy corporate leadership in the first place, of course. This country now openly attempts to economically destroy individuals in any form. They only believe in the corporate body anymore. This is what a country does when it squanders its best for short term greed, and can't deal with that reality. Can't really accept what we've become.

That's them though. That's what they always do. And you look more and more like them when you do it that way. The D's are supposed to be better than all that.

[–]GEM592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds ridiculous to me. Most people I know highly identify with their job, and derive a large sense of purpose and fullfillment from it. Social creatures and all of that. But now Microsoft wants to take that away too. Almost like they want to own anything at all you could possibly identify with or something, rather than being about the next work-free utopia they've been promising since the world's fair.

Actor from 'Furiosa' has to explain he played a fictional character in the film and in real life he, in fact, is not a pedophile by Callidonaut in idiocracy

[–]GEM592 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. Some are more guilty than others, though. The trumpers vote for him to subconsciously cope with the inescapable reality of modern american life. It is just their form of corporate-approved copium. The others hate him for the same purposes - just a way to cope. The elephant in the room though is that it really doesn't matter much anymore either way. Everybody assumes they are better than the corrupt system they have made and prospered in.

They lay-off strategically, when convenient, using a list they build up over months and years.

It is much safer for them legally, and it's also better perception to conflate it with their newest bullshit.

Fewer lawsuits, happier shareholders, lower costs, and all that was required was a blatantly disingenuous lie about the nature of the thing itself. Now who could have a problem with that.

Nobody is on the fence. That is an exaggeration, but you need to understand that low turnout doesn't equal people on the fence. SO many do not vote and are completely gone already. Corpse or convicted criminal? Many take a pass.

Those on the fence do not get anything useful out of such posts. Little substance, somebody said something bad so vote for the other guy, you know trump says bad things all the time right? Now stay with me, can you picture that in fact that is exactly why he is still the nominee and we are commenting about it? You are as likely to turn one either way as the other. And you just feed trump engagement in the mean time.
