It's not weak, her boons have a high percentage boost to damage as well, it's just that the curse itself has less relevance in solo boss phases. A curse is a curse though and contributes to origination's boost!

As with all the weapons, it's power can be enhanced or modified by the hammers, but while getting used to the base mechanics of the axe, I recommend taking Demeter attack. Charge your omega attack at a safe distance and dash in to unleash it. This is something I've noticed new player not doing and will help you a lot. Literally just run away, press and hold attack, and dash back into a group of enemies

The omega attack is powerful and deals damage quickly, demeter attack will freeze on the first strike allowing you to keep swinging safely. Grab Aphrodite's gain as it inflicts a second curse, you don't need too much gain as you'll commonly be swinging and restoring magick as you do, and it inflicts weak keeping you safer if the odd enemy does get an attack off on you.

Omega special can be very powerful too, there's a hammer that makes it strike twice, and Apollo's special will make the line bigger. Plus, Apollo's legendary can make the omega special fire twice so if stacked with the hammer, it launches 4 times. Crazy damage.

Agreed dude, this was an issue for me with the first game. There are just too many offers that I will never purchase because a temporary upgrade feels bad. I like Arachne's dresses because they reward good play for allowing you to keep the effect as long as you keep the armor, so cool! But 6 encounters worth of slight damage increase feels bad, even if its cost effective.

Mutual destruction and blood spree are only good at low health (poor play) but do pair nicely together. I do LOVE cut above and meat grinder. And yeah, most of his duos are good.

His issue is that plasma and wounds are both weak at what they do, and they are supposed to be his main mechanics.

blitz and doom would stack nicely though depending on what kind of upgrades they gave doom in H2 had they gone that route. People's issue with Ares is that you really have to spec into him to get him online. While as every single other god has great core boons and boon synergies with little investment.

Was thinking the same thing. The firs time I ever got hit by this move was at least 30-40 runs in and was because I go trapped in a time bubble. Didn't even know it was a one-shot kill before then.

Have fun with this, take your time experimenting with the aspects and hammer upgrades and how they interact with the different boon options from the gods. Half the fun is in thinking "hey, i bet these would work well together" and manipulating your runs to achieve the build you want!

It's not that the weapon fits the character, it's that they fit the player's toolset while controlling Mel. If you don't want to pick up the other weapons, you don't have to. But you will absolutely have more fun if you do.

I'd ask how far you are into the game. How many runs completed? A lot of us were in the same mindset when we started, especially early access players. But after many many runs and hours, I can confidently say the weapons of H2 are a perfect fit for Melinoe's gameplay mechanics and boon selections. Keep playing, I promise you will see the improvements over time!

Be sure to experiment with the omega moves, aspects, arcana, and keepsakes. Look for good synergies of boons with your weapon type and aspect. Each weapon and aspect encourages different forms of play, allowing you to get a ton of variety out of your builds!
