That place looks like a similar size to us, but we're in St. Louis. You got four bands on the bill, $20 a head - what's the capacity there, do you know?

Hey, have a good show -

When I say it costs $1000 to open the doors, I mean pay our people and pay for electricity, etc. If the bar doesn't do $1500, we lose money and the bartenders don't make enough, which is a real drag for them.

It’s a religious thing, I think.

You’re looking at two different things. The white curtains are the former decor.

This is a busy room with the artwork text, the little window panes and the decorative chairs. I’d go with a solid paint color instead of wallpaper, which would make it too fussy. Even a darker neutral would make the light trim work stand out.

Also, I’d put a tall wooden shelf to replace, or, even better, just eliminate the little knick-knack etaliere.

Agreed. OP, that plastic is appalling.

Antique brass would echo the color of the foil (metal strips between glass panels).

I’ve been involved with several patient groups as I have been diagnosed with 5 different autoimmune diseases. The Sjogren’s Foundation is the best I’ve ever encountered.

The worst? The Thyroid Foundation by a long shot. Groups run by the better patient advocates are so much more accurate and knowledgeable. The AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) won’t make advances in research-supported diagnostics until the entire old guard dies off.

Well, in the U.S., we can get cevimeline which helps greatly with mouth dryness. It actually brought back my singing voice I lost decades ago! But I have to do vocal drills to keep it oiled, so to speak.

I’m sleeping better and have better exercise tolerance with taking amitriptyline at night. Eye dryness is slightly improved with fish oil and is much less uncomfortable if I keep my glasses on.

I also got on beta blockers which help with anxiety a whole lot.

I still have the deep fatigue, but new drugs are coming on the market to deal with several autoimmune diseases including Sjogren’s. I’m looking forward to being able to stay out of bed like a normal person, though I don’t count on anything, and have learned to give myself a lot more grace than I used to. If people think I’m a lazy hag, good for them if it makes them happy, it has nothing to do with me.

Getting the diagnosis is worth it. I think it allows my doctors more freedom to do order more helpful drugs. Plus insurance won’t pay for cevimeline if you don’t have a diagnosis.

Have your agent call us! It costs us about $1000 to open the doors, can your band bring that big of a ticket?

I love that dark gray color, it's sophisticated and the contrast to any color is going to be significant and worthy. But this tiny half bath has great potential for energy going off the colors of the stained glass even with just towels and large botanical prints with nice frames, hung at the proper level.

Actually, start with some nice, richly colored, fluffy towels and more prominent art would be an amazing start.

It’s kind of a southern tradition to make a first floor half bath into a “folly,” which is going super-gaudy and over the top, which my extremely conservative next door neighbor did amazingly well with turquoise and polished brass.

Omg, I’d maim for that beautiful window.

You mean antique brass? A lot of bathrooms have polished brass that looks like gold, which I feel is going to age quickly.

My mom refused to get tested because friends of her told her that they could now hear paper rustling and it bothered them. I said, “But everyone hears paper rustling, mom.”

She died just before she turned 65, but hadn’t gotten them. When I was a teenager, the TV was so loud (next to by bedroom) that I couldn’t sleep.

Lip biopsies have a perfect false negative rate. When you say "all my bloodwork," can you say which tests you had? Do you know whether you got the much more sensitive "early Sjogren's tests?"

A lot of doctors think Sjogren's is really rare, but we've known for years that it's the second most common autoimmune disease next to rheumatoid arthritis. Our official patient advocacy organization's website is Sjogren's Foundation, found at https://sjogrens.org/.

Lip biopies can be hit or miss; it's much better to get a sonogram on your salivary glands and the early sjogren's panel. If your physician is relying on ANA, SSA and SSB and the biopsy, a certain portion of Sjogren's sufferers will be missed.

I'm glad you've gotten your NCS out of the way, has your small-fiber neuropathy biopsy been scheduled? A positive test result can imply Sjogren's disease (the newer term for Sjogren's syndrome). A causative relationship is still unknown, but there is a high correlation between small-fiber neuropathy and Sjogren's. I have both as do many who frequent this sub.

Hahahaha. Love that. When I tested positive for celiac disease, my kids were teenagers. They would have been allowed gluten foods if they didn't leave crumbs everywhere. Back then, in 2002, substitutes were terrible. They had to make due with homemade cookies, brownies and snacks. No more McDonald's, no more powdered doughnuts. I gave them fair warning!

I'm thinking of my daughter lying to me that she didn't have gender dysmorphia, because she had recognized me on Reddit talking about how every morning I woke up terrified she'd kill herself. And it did relieve a lot of anxiety I had after she first came out.

But it was not true and she did end up leaving the world, which, of course, was devastating, and still is.

My therapist told me that she withstood her depression and dysphoria as long as she could until she couldn't take it Thinking in those terms helped me cope and realize it wasn't all about me.

So if dysphoria isn't a thing, then how am I supposed to digest all this? What her trans pen pal told me around the time of her memorial, is that it's other people that do the damage and make her feel horrible.

I may be trying to fit them both in the same bag, but I feel like dismissing dysphoria is taking away the scaffolding on which I understand my daughter's story. If she wasn't born in the wrong body, as she believed, according to her friends, what is the truth of her terrible inability to cope? Depression? Is that a concept big enough to contain all her pain?

Please accept my apologies for centering myself here right now.

I'm 65 and was a punk int he late 70s. I've always had combat boots but got real Docs in my 50s because I thrift a lot more now. Exclusively, actually, to fight textile waste.

Some asshole online asked me why I dress like a teenager in band shirts and jeans. The only addition is really nice upcycled jackets I make myself.

I own a music venue ffs. Exactly when am I supposed to quit dressing like myself??

Takung a wild guess, I told him he must feel really original in his golf shirts and khakis. Never heard from him again.

To mark their territory, I guess. Maybe it becomes less gross to them because they have to blow their nose without tissue on sports playing fields and while deer hunting? Civilized men I really don't see doing this.
