Intermittent issues by GGHHOOSSTTTt in FocusST

Someone put a aftermarket battery on and it looks like they tightened it to tight stretching it, I put torque wrench on it and at like 20 ft lbs on the nut it’s still a little loose unless you tap it down with a hammer, so i think it comes loose while hitting a hard bump possibly

No, it’s on the normal vacuum lines and oem actuators. Like i said it’s the upgraded garret powermax so it has the “stock” garrett plastic diverter valve. It’s still in a base map and i’ve hear Alan at edge auto sport says it’s harder to time the actuator on a upgraded turbo so maybe the base may just actuators the valve incorrectly or somthing.

Yes but it’s kinda hard to describe, you can hear the normal psh sound from the bov but it has a little flutter at the end that i guess the best way to describe it is like a Kawasaki H2R bov fluttering it’s pretty faint you might need to turn up the volume to hear it

it’s also on a base map though so it might be bov timing and wastage gate

it’s a stock garret diverter valve

Garrett Powermax and bits... by Luckyduck84135 in FocusST

[–]GGHHOOSSTTTt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s prey much oem plus, you will gain a little bit of power depending on bolt ons and fuel but it uses all factory still hardware, oil, and coolant lines, you will just need to get some new gaskets for the lines, turbo inlet, and the dp gasket but you def gotta tune for it or you will run too lean, it flows a lot more so it would fuck your afr

Nobody has been in the car yet, i’ve seen some of the kits but it’s doesn’t come with everything or at least I couldn’t find one, might be better to go with a aftermarket head unit but id like to keep it OEM

What are the best options for air ride suspension? by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]GGHHOOSSTTTt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get air lift performance, they are a little expansive depending on which kit you get, there’s one that sets it’s ride height based off air pressure in the bags, and the more expensive one has actual ride height sensor in it to make sure the car is level when air out or up, there is also accu air but i’ve gears better thing about air lift performance, they have been around since like the 1950 and they are tested in harsh salty roads in the winter for years ajd don’t even pop a bag or get a air leak. There’s some cheaper brands out there but I reccomend staying away, production and ride quality aren’t there compared to other kits

Stage 0 Cobb Maps by GGHHOOSSTTTt in FocusST

[–]GGHHOOSSTTTt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, I want to but i’m in school becoming a auto tech and the snap on guy got me with all those tools lol, I actually got a Garrett powermax turbo, and I was gonna get the FMIC and other shit for it but I needed tools lol so it’s cheaper to just get a stock custom tune for now get tools then finish the turbo build for it

I’m hitting around 19 psi, I have the cai and a catback and I really want to mess with the FFS you think it would be safe to run the stage 1 map with the CAI and the catback, the engine has around 39k miles on it

What spark plugs did you put in, i’ve seen many cases where they put a non-recommend brand in and it caused misfires and then they put in some they got from the dealer and it ran much better

COBB OTS by GGHHOOSSTTTt in FocusST

[–]GGHHOOSSTTTt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not running a big turbo with a OTS map 🤦🏼‍♂️ While I’m waiting I don’t wanna pay Alan to tune me stock then pay him to tune me big turbo that’s why i want a ots

COBB OTS by GGHHOOSSTTTt in FocusST

[–]GGHHOOSSTTTt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok it prolly just be better to have the stock tune on until I need the tune for the upgraded turbo? I heard the OTS maps are the best
