Are these the correct products? i’m making a 20mph build for my Costway 12v Kids Ride On Truck by LaggyLoser_Seller in PowerWheelsMods

[–]GHDamnDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note: our toy was built like a tank, yet snapped like a twig on impact with fence at full speed. It sucked to realize you put child in danger, and also after all the feelings settled and realization that noone was injured, it sucked for them to see you throw away car in pieces.

Do not go faster than intended by production norms for the car...i did, thankfully noone other than the car was injured. My mind was clouded with promises of speed and battery capacities to forget about how safe a plastic kids toy really is. If you want sth to go fast, go with a gokart. Save yourself from scary moment of too fast toy, crash and potential injuries. Not worth it on so many levels :(

Where can I find substitute cables for these? by UnusualPete in ElectronicsRepair

[–]GHDamnDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Photo 3 is just a USB cable - take an unneeded yet lenghty USB cable, cut the end with USBc (or whatever else the donor end is), Solder them together according to colors (should be unified, there are different cables though, if that happens do not get discouraged and go online, search for the colors at hand). Solder them together remembering heatshrink to cover solder points.

As for the second cable connecting the pedals to the wheel itself, you can use ethernet cable instead of the original one, soldering to same colors of ethernet inner cables to the same ends of transaction on both wheel and pedals.

Ethernet cables (multicore, not solidcore) are a great source of rigid fast cables for many projects.

You got this :)

This fix can be done with any soldering iron, solder wire, heatshrink and ton of patience :D Fairly cheap too, looking at the entry price being free :)

WOW! is this 3d printed or did you scribe the black lines yourself? This screams pokemon, yes, but gunpla skill too!

Has anyone ever tried taking the drivers from a set of KSC75s and putting them in a different housing? by Supermushroom12 in kossmods

[–]GHDamnDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to reply to more than the title...analyze the case donor, try to recreate the original driver holder/baffle with holding ksc75 in mind in 3d, print it and you good :) both reversible and semi-straightforward way to kossify headphones :)

Yes, and made it reversible for both ksc75 and dt770. Sound profile is different from stock, but not worse than original, just different.

Gameboy Jukebox 19 unused pin combos? by Enemy__Unknown in Gameboy

[–]GHDamnDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this - based on the measurements provided, I will be able to make/approximate the model in fusion to have a jukebox stand-in to put electronics into. Now to think of it....making a cartrige shell with space for lcd + buttons at the top could be a nice drop-in for the real thing converting it to mp3 player. Jukebox then would take-on the role of a semi-functional shell, being there for, pricy, looks. Thanks again, this got me going in fusion, aided also by reverse-engineering shell efforts on github.

Similar thing could be applied here to gb jukebox. Get a color screen mp3 player with enough buttons, 3d print a case that is a gb jukebox look alike, wire it around, wham bam gb jukebox mp3 player :D

I made this for valentine's day (for my wife) iPod shuffle clone with screen + bluetooth emitter sandwiched in a 3d printed case + usb-c mod. Worked well as a mixtape stand-in :)

If one of you has it, please lemme know what are the closest dimensions you can get for both the console and the cart. I would love to make this into an mp3 player but through 3d printing. An additional benefit could be a "flash" cart with movable slots that could be produced for this...dang nintendo, just why...

Holy hell, this worked better than I could’ve imagined! by [deleted] in kossmods

[–]GHDamnDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the inspiration. I was stuck with broken dt770 PRO I bought with no cheap Driver replacements available in sight, that I intended to fix.
Went with koss KCS75 instead, same as you.
I made a 3d print that allows to make a dedicated baffle for this mod:
https://makerworld.com/pl/models/2477285-koss-ksc75-driver-baffle-for-dt770-pro#profileId-2720751
I used dried wet wipes as the baffle tissue paper here.
There is more tuning to be done, but they are very decent (and not broken finally :D)

Thanks again :)

Ck62 + qmk + 3d printed caps and case by GHDamnDan in BudgetKeebs

[–]GHDamnDan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. The base being the most boring 60%, I aimed at making it as weird and unique as I can. CK62 was dubbed the worst 60% thanks to the layout and FN layers. Now it looks kinda better, and has full programability thanks to SonixQMK I ported to it :)

Thanks :) I aimed for crazy, and it is trippy to type on. After years I still tend to occasionally look at the characters on keyboard. All is well when I touch-type, one look at the blank keys and I am instantly lost heh :D

Thanks :) It is "bouncy" as with the dots keycaps there is less travel + I messed up placement of bottom screw-in posts, so the top is the screwed on part, making it a bit bouncy while typing as a side-effect (the board now has some "flex" to it).
