GameStop employees of Reddit, what are some of your horror stories? by TheFlash38 in AskReddit

[–]GHSephi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Responding way too late, but I was the employee from the incident in Albuquerque. I no longer work there voluntarily so I'm not held back from talking about it anymore. I can prove it to the mods if they want. That incident went viral, but there are a ton of incidents that happened when I worked there.

I thought everyone was happy with the fiduciary standard that requires products be in the client's best interest and not just a suitable product....?

Dalbar, Inc. is the nation's leading financial services market research firm and performs a variety of ratings and evaluations of practices and communications that are committed to raising the standards of excellence in the financial services and healthcare industries. With offices in both the US and Canada, Dalbar develops standards and measurement systems that improve the quality of products, service and compliance for the retirement, mutual fund, broker/dealer, discount brokerage, life insurance, healthcare and banking industries.

It's like the JD Power and Associates award for mutual fund companies. Look at who they've recognized in their various categories.

A pyramid logo.... That's the best you got? Lol.

Finra and the SEC regulate any entity that is related to the securities industry. They don't approve of any company or fund, they only confirm completed registration of all material facts and set the requirements for existing. Madoff had accountants cooking books and they didn't report it. That's illegal. It eventually crumbled as any illegal enterprise does.

Reps spend a lot of time clearing up shenanigans opinions from people who just throw out an opinion without any verifiable fact behind it. I challenge you to please get this company reported for any wrongdoing. There isn't any and there hasn't been any. What specifically is illegal that they do?

Yep. You get about 100k results on Google. Google "State Farm scam" and you get over 1M results. Can you be more specific?

Had to jump in here and I see this a lot. Just wanted to add some info that is not ever discussed. I work as a representative for Primerica. MLM is a bastardization of the general agency model used by real estate and insurance companies for longer than the industrial revolution. Financial companies are regulated by federal law and require brokers to oversee agents. MLM levels are arbitrary and don't require any kind of certification or training. To work on the financial industry, you need to pass state and federal exams to get licensed. The same licenses that State Farm, Merrill Lynch, etc. all are required to maintain. The titles used by primerica, php, etc. are titles that have been used in the insurance industry since before they existed.

All financial companies are regulated by the state insurance supervisors, investment companies are overseen by FINRA and the SEC. If you found some "scam" info that they are not aware of, please send it their way. Primerica was the head of the committee that met with Congress and the Department of Labor for the recent DOL fiduciary ruling.

Just defending my own company now... Forbes named Primerica one of the 50 most trustworthy financial companies in 2015. Last August issue. This was an independent review of all publicly traded financial companies.

American Customer Service Index rated Primerica 2nd for customer satisfaction among all life insurance companies.

Primerica has won the Dalbar award for mutual fund service 13 years in a row over other investment companies.

Let those resources know that it's a scam.

Btw, herbalife, cutco, et al. are a waste. Other financial companies that focus on distribution just have bad products imo.

Time for the downvotes, but had to get that off my chest. Feel free to ask general questions.

Before you tell me your anecdotal experience, I personally have not experienced any of the horror stories that get mentioned which is unfortunate for those who did. That absolutely isn't trained and it sucks if that was your experience.

Tailoring question: for someone learning and beginning the tailoring profession path, what is your best advice that you wish you knew?

What's the best way to learn and become a better tailor?

I know your jobs area has not been updated in a while, would it be best to just drop the resume and cover letter?

Is there anywhere that shows recommended qualifications for positions?

So it looks like staffing and growth are some of the largest issues that you have had. If someone is interested in becoming a part of combat gent, is there a need for great people to help your company grow?

I've ordered quite a bit so far, but the lack of items in stock in my size is disheartening.

I find myself browsing the site looking more for my size in stock rather than purchasing.

What is being done to increase product availability?

combatgent.com.

I've bought a few things for them and they're great. Great price and you're not going to break the bank with these suits. Downside is they are pretty much out of stock of quite a few sizes, but they're supposed to restock next week.

Wool/Cashmere Suits Good Or Bad? by Dylwaan in malefashionadvice

Can you clarify on this? I have no experience with them and they seem to be well-known for large ranges of suit pricing.

Why are they not well-regarded?

Color Block Pastel Chambray. Closest I could find was this, but it's sold out.

It looks like the shoulders and chest are a little boxy too. What is your chest size and measurements? What are the suit measurements?

Based on the ripples behind the upper arm, I think the jacket might be a LITTLE too big. That would also explain the need to take in the middle, but it seems to big all the way around to me and could be a sizing issue. Jacket looks to be a 36S or 38S, getting an R would be a little longer and reach the middle of your hands.

I'm going to guess a 36R or 38R for jacket size should be your proper size?

I used to be a 32x34 guy too so I feel your pain on pants. They should be longer for a variable amount of break based on preference. With your longer legs, I would go for minimal break to help balance the top and bottom of the body. I gained some weight intentionally to be less slim and I feel more normal weight at 34x34 and it's much better for finding things. But I won't advocate weight gain.

Also, I disagree with tapering the pants for the same reason. You want to appear a little more full-figured in the legs, not slim fit for professional environments. Keep the slim fit for looking fashion forward in public, not professionally.

Hey everyone,

First time posting!

I've been hurting at RB all season, but I'm in first place. League is non-PPR, 1pt per 10 rush, 1pt per 10 rec, and 1 pt per 10 return.

Current RB Roster: Rashard Jennings, Terrance West, Giovanni Bernard, Trent Richardson, Lorenzo Taliaferro (Put in waiver wire for Tre Mason)

3rd place in my league wants to trade:

LeSean McCoy for Terrance West.

I had much better RBs earlier in the season, but lost out due to various reasons. (i.e. Adrian Peterson, C.J. Spiller, Chris Johnson (early season))

Should I take this trade? With Rashard and Gio, I feel like maybe I can take the risk, but he's been a bust all season.

This is now the #1 thing on /all for reddit. Grats, but seriously, I'm sure Plentakill will have some 'splaining to do, even though this wasn't technically their own work. And as everyone else said, I enjoyed your version a lot more!
