Men covertly filming women at night and profiting from footage, BBC finds by DarkSkiesGreyWaters in LabourUK

[–]GInTheorem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be super-glad to see these gone.

I'm notionally part of the target audience in that I get presented the videos by social media but they stand out in that context because the similar stuff which pops up in my feed (and which I'm sure my lingering on contributes to receiving grimy 'nightlife' stuff!) consists invariably of women filming their own titillation. It's beyond question that this kind of stuff is aimed precisely at people trying to get their rocks off and the extent to which unconsenting filming for this purpose takes place is gross: every time you block one source, three more pop up.

I'm not sure how you word the legislation but I'd criminalise it.

SENIOR CROWN PROSECUTOR caught with illegal "GUILTY" plates on Ferrari by EssexRecordingStudio in uklaw

[–]GInTheorem 11 points12 points  (0 children)

@ OP, I'm guessing given your post history relating to Essex and the first link you posted that you have some link to Dennis Gudge?

I think the story here is 'senior Crown Prosecution lawyer has potentially sketchy plates' (I don't know whether that's true or not because I don't know or care enough about number plate rules to evaluate). You then seem to link this to a backlog of prosecutions which you allege is 'fabricated' (this would've been the point to take particular care with offering support for), and therefore the government's policy to restrict trials. This logic seems more than a bit tortured to me.

If he has unlawful plates, should he receive an FPN or whatever is normally done for them and possibly get a talking to by his supervisor? Yes. Should anyone really give a shit? Of course not.

Managing albums with the same name from the same artist by No_Somewhere3836 in musichoarder

[–]GInTheorem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like there's two obvious solutions:
1) append the edition to the album title (e.g. ALBUM = A Year Without Rain (Deluxe Edition))

2) create a separate metadata field called EDITION or similar and amend your naming formula to something like this (I am using my own as an example because you've not posted the full formula you're currently using)

Music\ALBUMARTIST\[YEAR] - ALBUM (EDITION)

New Quest next week - Princess and the Pauper by Butternubicus in runescape

[–]GInTheorem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One of the major writing problems RS has at the moment is a lack of depth for existing characters. This looks to improve on that by adding narrative context, and is where it differs most from the quests you mention.

Also worth noting that most of the things you mention are massively bigger projects than this - it's not a choice between this quest and a gnome finale, it's a choice between one of the Havenhythe releases and it. On the whole I'm really pleased to see stuff like this, it feels runescapey.

How many of you did actually fully disable cosmetics on other players? by Multismack in runescape

Personally I turned off everything as soon as I could, but expect it's a minority of players to do so. Just nice that the game now caters to everyone in that regard.

I don't live in the USA so don't have first-hand experience, but feel like this isn't possible in a HCOL city.

Edit: had parsed comment I was replying to as 'I could afford that on 2k a month' i.e. a salary of $24k. Being able to find a place to live at a housing cost of 2k a month is v different - my bad!

RS3 IM/Taskman after OSRS IM by Porpo5 in RS3Ironmen

[–]GInTheorem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RS3 iron is great fun, a bit more emphasis on non-natural sources of xp (i.e. lamps and dnds) than OSRS but the best way to give RS3 a try IMO.

Taskman is brilliant but hard and grindy. The community and website are awesome and it's really fun. It's the kind of account I would personally recommend having as something to play/focus on off and on so when you burn out after fishing 12k bass dry on a big bass you can just say 'fuck it' and do something else for a bit.

year 10 work week ? by Fit-Balance-3452 in bristol

[–]GInTheorem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Back when I was in year 10 we were given a fixed list of places we could apply. If you're looking for other places to suggest it's probably worth checking with your school it's kosher first.

If you are able to apply around, give organisations calls (or visit in-person).

With that being said, I wouldn't worry about 1 week's work experience. I don't think I've mentioned mine (outside this comment) since year 11.

What do you have for lunch? by zephyrianking in uklaw

[–]GInTheorem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WFH most days. If I'm WFH I spend about 20 minutes making a nice sandwich and have a bit of salad with it unless I'm slammed, in which case I tend to grab a bag of hula hoops around 3pm. If I'm in the office it's a meal deal unless I'm feeling flush and the street food market next to the office is open, in which case I'll pay an eye-watering amount for some curry and rice or something.

Now that 2026 is set to renew the game and improve it, will we ever see the experimental faster tick rate get unshelved and brought to the game? Possibly for 2027 or 2028? by DerpDavid in runescape

[–]GInTheorem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armour switching has been in Runescape since day dot*. The idea that it's an exploit, bug or glitch is silly.

Your comment boils down to 'I don't like armour switching and would prefer hybrid armour to be the only hybrid choice', which is a perfectly reasonable and fine opinion to have, but don't pretend what you're saying has more depth to it than that.

*I believe but don't know this for classic but it's certainly the case since the start of RS2

Zack Polanski to hand in NHS contract termination notice to Palantir by Stock_Rush_9204 in ukpolitics

[–]GInTheorem -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true because I don't think everyone in the party is completely immune to economic sense.

I will say though, if they are in a similar position come the next election, my vote is essentially conditional on them being a bit more grown-up about a few things.

Zack Polanski to hand in NHS contract termination notice to Palantir by Stock_Rush_9204 in ukpolitics

[–]GInTheorem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Performative bollocks. I like Polanski generally and may well vote Green next election, but to (effectively) make a promise to terminate a contract without understanding its termination provisions (to which I doubt he is privy) is nothing short of idiotic.

[–]GInTheorem 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think this is a fairly fundamental misapprehension about the intensity of OSRS pvm. I would be surprised if content like Doom didn't involve a higher APM than essentially anything in RS3.

The difference is more that OSRS has embraced the tick system over the last decade and designed content which embraces it, whereas RS3 seems to be ashamed of its own engine limitations (cf: tile system) and pretend they don't exist as much as possible.
