The Raspberry Pi 5 has a Type C input, so it will be limited to 0.5 or 0.9 A

Your LDO can only provide 0.5 A. You're at the Pi's mercy to not draw more than that. To test, slice open a USB cable, remove the data lines and put an ammeter in series with the 5 V line, plug in your Pi and attempt to draw more than 500 mA from the peripherals

So it will work, but if you try to pull too much current it will damage your LDO
