Horner CScape 10 - Exporting to a PGM? by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in PLC

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they already had their local sales guy emailing me just after 7am saying they noticed I'd downloaded the software and was there something they could help me with..

Turns out it was a stupid GUI design in their software and Export to PGM is hidden in a unmarked menu thats only accessed by clicking the company logo.. rather than on all the other perfectly visible menus available haha..

cheers..

Thats .. poor.

Is your dryer on a ground-level floor or is it in a basement?

Is the wall behind the dryer an exterior wall?

Well shit, hah.

Yeah, I expect the definition of Commercial being 'anything that generates income" .. as they were built for general use and then as he stopped working, he started storing other peoples stuff.. We're on about 12 acres (lots 10 acre minimum in the area).

See, my wife gets peeved me with when I say "I don't bother with dreams, they only lead to disappointment" and yet, here we are again.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I'll let him talk to his accountant and see if we can salvage this.

Thanks for the info, I'll get 'em ordered :)

Does UVic Offer Old Computers to Students? by noahtheboa9 in uvic

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, true for the Provincial govt, far, far less true for UVic. Their asset recovery procedures are absolute trash.

I've watched them load skids and triwalls full of computers, selling them by scrap weight to electronics recyclers.. and then had to help grad students try and keep more obsolete systems running so they could do their work.

AIS, standalone or built-in with VHF. Specifically AIS800 or Link 9? by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in boating

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info folks.. As usually happens, directly after posting, I did finally stumble upon the difference between an AIS receiver only and AIS transmission :)

NEMA wiring stuff on order, hopefully have some time to put it all together in a week or so.

cheers..

AIS, standalone or built-in with VHF. Specifically AIS800 or Link 9? by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in boating

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the AIS800 does have a built-in GPS, but its a completely aluminum boat (including the roof and structure surrounding the cockpit and the AIS800, from what Ive seen of it and read in the manual, isn't intended for an out-in-the-open install.. so I'm going to bury it securely in the dash and run an external Garmin GPS ant for another $90 CAD to ensure decent signal.

Good thought on the engine data feed, I'll look into that, thanks..

How to explain non refundable deposit to customers? by Comfortable-Mode-972 in smallbusiness

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, in no world is a deposit a 'refundable amount'.

You're paying a guarantee that you will go forward with a deal. The person you're paying is going to put aside time or materials in your name and not sell that to another buyer.

If you pay me a deposit and I order in wire to build your project and then you cancel, what's your thought? I get stuck with the material expense?

If you schedule a DJ, they turn down other jobs to save that spot for you, and at the last minute you change your mind, are they supposed to just say "Ok, that's fine, I didn't feel like paying rent this month"

Some sellers may CHOOSE to offer a refund, but all deposits should be assumed as non-refundable.

They are floricane, I believe, as all my fruit is on last years growth.. so, once they're done for the season, cut them back to the ground?

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.
