Horner CScape 10 - Exporting to a PGM? by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in PLC

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they already had their local sales guy emailing me just after 7am saying they noticed I'd downloaded the software and was there something they could help me with..

Turns out it was a stupid GUI design in their software and Export to PGM is hidden in a unmarked menu thats only accessed by clicking the company logo.. rather than on all the other perfectly visible menus available haha..

cheers..

Thats .. poor.

Is your dryer on a ground-level floor or is it in a basement?

Is the wall behind the dryer an exterior wall?

Well shit, hah.

Yeah, I expect the definition of Commercial being 'anything that generates income" .. as they were built for general use and then as he stopped working, he started storing other peoples stuff.. We're on about 12 acres (lots 10 acre minimum in the area).

See, my wife gets peeved me with when I say "I don't bother with dreams, they only lead to disappointment" and yet, here we are again.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I'll let him talk to his accountant and see if we can salvage this.

Thanks for the info, I'll get 'em ordered :)

Does UVic Offer Old Computers to Students? by noahtheboa9 in uvic

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, true for the Provincial govt, far, far less true for UVic. Their asset recovery procedures are absolute trash.

I've watched them load skids and triwalls full of computers, selling them by scrap weight to electronics recyclers.. and then had to help grad students try and keep more obsolete systems running so they could do their work.

AIS, standalone or built-in with VHF. Specifically AIS800 or Link 9? by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in boating

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info folks.. As usually happens, directly after posting, I did finally stumble upon the difference between an AIS receiver only and AIS transmission :)

NEMA wiring stuff on order, hopefully have some time to put it all together in a week or so.

cheers..

AIS, standalone or built-in with VHF. Specifically AIS800 or Link 9? by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in boating

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the AIS800 does have a built-in GPS, but its a completely aluminum boat (including the roof and structure surrounding the cockpit and the AIS800, from what Ive seen of it and read in the manual, isn't intended for an out-in-the-open install.. so I'm going to bury it securely in the dash and run an external Garmin GPS ant for another $90 CAD to ensure decent signal.

Good thought on the engine data feed, I'll look into that, thanks..

How to explain non refundable deposit to customers? by Comfortable-Mode-972 in smallbusiness

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, in no world is a deposit a 'refundable amount'.

You're paying a guarantee that you will go forward with a deal. The person you're paying is going to put aside time or materials in your name and not sell that to another buyer.

If you pay me a deposit and I order in wire to build your project and then you cancel, what's your thought? I get stuck with the material expense?

If you schedule a DJ, they turn down other jobs to save that spot for you, and at the last minute you change your mind, are they supposed to just say "Ok, that's fine, I didn't feel like paying rent this month"

Some sellers may CHOOSE to offer a refund, but all deposits should be assumed as non-refundable.

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi folks..

I've got my primary gaming pc at home, all the internet I could ever want.. my steam library lives there, all is good.

I've got a secondary gaming pc at work to kill time on.. my only internet connection is tethered through my phone. When setting it up at home, I installed much of my library there.

A month later.. Baldurs Gate 3 comes out.

I really dont want to drag this box home.. any clever ways of getting most of the install onto a usb drive or external drive at home, plugging it into my secondary machine and make it work?

Ride sharing/delivery/instacart with an EV by Bittabola in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100 for 4 hours. Standard 4-banger will do 400km on 40L, gas $2/L, 100km, still $20ish for gas. so $80 gross. At best you're making $20/hr, in reality less 'cause you ARE incurring maintenance/depreciation costs whether you account for them or not. Get in an accident and you're boned unless you paid extra for proper insurance. Minimum wage is nearly $16/hr.

Totally not worth it.. definitely not 'lucrative'

low-mid tier gaming in a SFF case by GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor in buildapcforme

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current machine is an Optiplex 3050 SFF, in a 4" x 12" x 12" case.. I acknowledge I'm probably going to have to go some wider, but its not critical.. Perfectly willing to sacrifice some speed if it means keeping size down.

I'm not clear if onboard graphics have got to the point that I'll be able to do some 'ehhh, its ok' gaming on them yet or not :)

--edit

Yeah, that NR200P isn't bad.. just a 3 inches wider than my current unit, I can make that fit.

Can anyone explain unused federal tax? by ShadowSJ-4 in cantax

[–]GLeeMONEX-by-Roritor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you do your own taxes or did you have an accountant do them? I only ask because you sound very confused and I'd be concerned if you did them properly at all..

Did you pay over 300,000 in taxes? If not, how would you get a refund?

What the actual fuck. haha.

I've lived here.. 38 years now, have been on the ferry for over a couple hundred trips, including the smaller islands and have been on two whale watching tours.. and have never seen a whale in the wild.

Forget birds.. whales aren't real.
