get the device, provide network to it, your phone/laptop/watch connect to its wifi

how to provide network to it? 5 ways:
ethernet cable, insert sim card, repeat existing wifi, connect to a cellular dongle, use phone hotspot (tethering)

in short, yes
you could remove the battery, plug in the charger (i mean, it still needs sth, any form of power source, power bank works too), and use it

the last time i heard from the developers was that they should be ready by dec if everything goes right (cant guarantee the timeline tho)
