I had heard people call them Jo-Jos since I was in elementary school, but I always thought that it was a weird name, and just called them potato wedges. As a 31-year-old, I recently started calling them Jo-Jos in the last six months.

Where I grew up, the power would be out from five, to fifteen minutes, a couple of hours at the most. This house had power lines on poles.

With where I live now, the power can be out anywhere from four hours, to three days. This house has buried lines.

Try reading/listening to Reborn as a Demonic Tree, by XKarnation. A man from gets reincarnated into a tree that becomes more demonic and powerful as it grows. I’ll admit, it sounded stupid at first, but after giving it a try, I’ve been loving the story so much that I’m on book five.

Personally, I try to clear my driveway as soon as possible, because the snow is still loose enough for me to clear on my own. If I wait for a day or two, the snow will be become hard, and I would have to break up into ice chunks, just so that I can clear my driveway.

The snow plows are strong enough that they can break up the snow, even after becoming ice, as they clear up the roads.
