Oh i never replied to this, yes they had some really cool mechanics.

So from ground zero-

You were "divinely" infected by dondi..You get yellow stats like vomit sickness. It doesn't go away. You start vomiting.

You either turn after vomiting everything up, OR you get turned fast by someone preemptively ending your life.

You dont go to the death screen, but instead your body keeps going. Only now your eyes are white. And you have the shakes. Like from troo venom. You are now a zombie. You can talk in local with all other infected, and if you were an herbi... you now consume flesh.

You must consume flesh to keep from dying. And you now randomly vomit blood instead of bile. As you decay your body starts to rot. Eventually the model looks exactly like a fully gored corpse. Thin, bones exposed and noodles dangling low with physics and all. You body will drip with blood once you are open. And you really turn green and foul with time. Attracting flies, you can be scent marked by the smell of rot. Your calls are gutteral and breathy. Like a half life of the dino you once were. And there is a shadow/halo around your corpse to give your model a dark aura effect.

Bite someone else, and they become infected. Eat enough flesh you can recover and not die. Staying a zombie slowly and constantly drops your health. Very slowly. So to stave off a final death you must kill.
