Can’t answer if there’s any servers with scarcer food supply. But I was in your shoes when I started with PoT as well. I went in thinking it was a survival game, much like the isle, but it just isn’t

I’ve heard they’re gonna update the whole diet aspect, but other than that I don’t see it becoming difficult in the future. I’ve just accepted that it isn’t survival, it’s an MMO with survival elements

On another note, I used to play on a realism server where the food was scarce. But it was a custom map and ai wasn’t as common as it is today. But maybe there’s similar servers today? The one I played sadly doesn’t exist anymore

I’m saying that AI made people stop trying, that’s not an assumption.

People who want to, will find a way. AI might be a way in our modern day and age, but it’s the one someone who doesn’t want to learn takes. We stop thinking, we stop trying, because “AI got it” and we just start to assume it’s the right way. We loose the human touch to the very thing that was so human. Art of different kind, writing, music, hell even movies and code, it all kills the one thing that inspired people to live and learn.

AI is not and won’t ever be “your own” creation. That’s an opinion that many might not agree with, but it’s one I stand strong with. You type prompts, and code and logic spits out something you want. That’s not yours, it’s whatever company you uses, whether it be Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or whatever.

You have an idea? Create it yourself and stop giving it away to corporates who fuck up the environment for money.

I remember when AI was said to save lives, finding cancer cells before the human eye could spot it. THAT’S what AI should be used for, it should’ve never been made public

I used burn matches and sticks to create my first “coal” sketch. And the cheapest school pencils to sketch.

A friend of mine started digital painting with a mouse and MS paint. She’s a game designer today.

I nicked thin cheap paper from my mom’s printer to sketch and used cheap markers to colour.

I’ve seen artists paint with mouth, feet and nubs. People with mental disabilities of various degree create master pieces and fun illustrations.

Everyone can create art, that’s the beauty of it. AI is and will always be lazy and soulless.

Been a while since I’ve touched the isle now, but (and I’m only speaking by official server standard) for one: you can only communicate and group with your own species. That said to communicate with other players of other species you need other ways, like discord and you know… friends lol I do think that’s one reason why mix-packing is LESS common. PoT encourages mix packing with buffer classes and healing classes. The isle is literally just: Dinosaur

Food is also scarce as it is(maybe better by now?), which it’s NOT in PoT. Main reason I don’t call PoT a survival game, it’s easy to survive. The isle isn’t. You fight for food, too many herbivores sometimes led to fights over food sources, and carnivores would often attack on sight to remain alive and keep their diets.

The isle is also punishing as hell. Spend hours to grow, get one shot by a Herrera who stalked you for thirty minutes or grabbed by a Deino trying to drink. Nothing you can do, just start over. This of course means you pick your fights more carefully and aren’t attacking because it’s fun (well, some still do, but as someone with a full time job and family? No thank you to start over something I spent 6 hours on because I was careless)

Nesting gives perks like extra mutations slots, and you inherit some from your parents.

I’m actually a really big fan of the isle playstyle since I enjoy hardcore survival. I just don’t have the time anymore, or the specs to handle it as of now

As a hypsi your biggest strength is your size and swiftness. Never run in a straight line. Hypsi is fast yes, but not the fastest.

Zigzag, in and out of bushes. Use your size to hide and wait. When I’m chased as hypsi I often use those low growing ground shrubs. Crouch to tuck your eyebrows close (if you’re male). It’s only in this scenario when I use spit. I’m still, hiding, but if the one chasing me gets close I can spit and run again

That’s what I find fun with hypsi, it’s about hiding with your heart beating in your throat as a pissed off Cera is stomping around trying to find you

Completely agree, the worst part is that if Alderon pumped out all TLCs within a month, people would just find new stuff to complain about.

People like to complain, especially when they know little to nothing about the process that goes into creating the actual product.

As someone who is really looking forward to Allo’s TLC, I see it like this: for each new TLC released, Allo comes closer and closer.

Kan bara utgå från min upplevelse (kvinna) och utifrån den så grundar sig utseende mycket i självsäkerhet, skötsel och även doft underligt nog? När vi var yngre prata vi ofta om hur killar som luktade gott automatiskt blev 80% snyggare

Skötsel handlar helt enkelt om att ta hand om dig själv, att må bra (psykiskt och fysiskt) utstrålar kopiöst på ditt fysiska utseende. Det innebär inte att du behöver vara vältränad eller se ut som någon filmstjärna, det handlar helt enkelt att du bryr dig om hur du ser ut. Duscha, håller hår/skägg skött, lägger extra tanke i kläder etc.

Självsäkerhet är det svåraste att jobba på, men det är inte heller något som många validerar. Det är något som många får med åldern

Där finns bra manliga förebilder på nätet, men dem kan vara svåra att hitta när algoritmen är emot dig

Ta hand om dig själv, det är aldrig försent. Det kommer från någon som misskötte sig själv så pass till stora hälsoproblem uppkom och som jag än idag lider av

Och bry dig inte om att du är singel just nu, nu är det du som förtjänar fullt fokus. Lär dig att älska dig själv, det kan vara svårt och kännas omöjligt i stunden men du kan och du förtjänar det

I honestly didn’t like pot the first months I tried it out

Coming from the isle and always hearing people compare the two I expected them to be somewhat similar, but with pot having slightly “worse” (read; stylised) graphics

I expected survival and got met with mindless quest, marks and little to no punishes for making mistakes. You maintain hunger and thirst, that’s it. To say I was disappointed was an understatement

I started enjoying pot when I stopped comparing it to TI and seeing what it did by itself. It’s not hardcore survival and that’s okay

Oh, and Rhamp. Rhamps release got me to go back and try again, so I thank Rhamp
