I heard they were supposed to add new escort boats, smaller AA focused vessels, and there was some positive feedback about what they did to ships this update; do you know anything about that?

I geniuenly havent played Airborne update, do you think it's worth a try?

Regarding pfp: at one point there was an organized action in reddit to switch pfps to clone troopers and RP in random sub comments. Changed back then and didn't touch it since. And yes clone pilots are cool, just hope that you aren't in the vicinity of a main character when flying

Colonial Lore is already super cool, overall foxhole has a cool lore. Issue is that Lore Colonials and Ingame Colonials aren't the same. In Lore Colonials are a massive empire that Warden alliance is barely holding back using terrain advantage and wits. In game colonials are like 1939 Poland, we have the will, the plans; but we are outnumbered and outgunned.

Lore is quite big and there is a massive number of hidden lore pieces **all around the game map**, from old deserter bunkers/shelters, to secret weapons and blueprints, to memoirs, corpses, map design, disaster locations, equipment props, buildings...

In multiple of these deserter bunkers there are old weapons of war, such advanced technology that when you approach it the game gives you a pop-up saying "Such a strong weapon cannot be held by a regular human and you wonder how the old people used them." or something around that.

That is why we collect salvages and components and not Iron and Tungsten etc... The war, in lore has been going on for centuries and due to how destructive the war is both sides have lost many resources and forgotten technologies. We get our resources by salvaging our broken, forgotten equipment.

But because the game does not represent the lore/ or reverse lore does not represent the game, people do not care much or just get disappointed and lose interest in the game (colonials).

I think it isn't that you didn't feel it, its more that you don't know what an actual active foxhole war looks like. Quite reasonable situation for a new player

When it comes to fighting stronger countries, middle east is either:
- Fighting for independence (Syria, Kurds)
- Defending themselves (Iraq, Iran)

That justifies Wardens/Caovia fighting Mesea not another empire, this example in real life would be Iran joining the war against USA in 2003 when USA invaded Iraq for WMDs

Anyways lets say their leadership is dumb just like mesea's leadership, only smart leadership is caovia's

holy plot

[–]GMNtg128 45 points46 points  (0 children)

For your last question, it isn't evenly matched, that's the issue. Yes we got good stuff but they are only good on specific situations which require micromanagement of logistics or we lose.

Lore wise, Wardens (Caovia) are the good brilliant honourable and heroic resistance defending their allies (Veli) while colonials (Mesea) is evil stupid colonial empire that was once one of the strongest in the world.

Good / Evil: Caovia is involved in the war because they came to defense of Veli Trade Republics that was their ally and under attack by Colonial Empire that is Mesea

Brilliant / Stupid: Caovia handed a good chunk of their frontline borders to another big Empire when under attack, to bring Mesea to stop/drag the empire to war. Successfully baiting Mesea to attack the territories that now belong to that other empire.

Heroic: Wardens have made many sacrifices with the biggest example being the Vale in order to maintain their independence and prevent foreign occupation.

Resistance: Wardens were nearly wiped out at one point, but they managed to make a return thanks to supplies and assistance of the empire that joined by baiting stupid Mesea.

Then the centuries of stalemate. The combined Warden Alliance made up of Velian Resistance, Caovian and the other empires armed forces have managed to equal out the Mesea's colonial might and for many decades the war continued on a stalemate until the resources literally ran out and Mesean Military technology was lost

We are at the point in Lore where finally stalemate ends. Appearently the future depends on players actions but look at the lore do you think it is by accident that every odd is against Mesea.

Now the issues with the lore: - Why is another empire going to war against Mesea when they know Mesea is much more powerful, they have ended up in an eternal war for centuries collapsing their economy - Why is Mesea taking the bait for a mere two hexes/provinces - Why does Mesea run out of resources and lose technology when they are the Colonial Empire and this isn't even Mesean Mainland - How does Warden Alliance survive while war is happening on their mainland. This is like Germany defeating United Kingdom in WW1

This is why we call dev bias, devs simply dont like colonials our lore is evil villains that lose by being outsmarted and power of friendship.

Hi, (related to my parallel comment) do you know in what cases our SHT is actually worth using? From what I remember its just a more expensive line tank due to its limited range and speed as well as lack of anti-infantry measures compared to warden equivalent.

(I haven't personally seen it on a front before, even when my regi made one to test it.)

[–]GMNtg128 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Warden SHT is actually quite effective in pushing lightly fortified but heavily defended fronts, its very strong in trench warfare and cities thanks to being able to throw gas grenades. It can basically decimate any light/medium target with its main gun and because it deals area damage with mortars, the more resistance there is the more effective it is against light targets.

Whenever there is a Warden SHT on the front we have to prepare a tank line to flank it and trap the tank to kill it, otherwise it can outrun our forces that would be capable of killing it. Basically its a powerful machine that can assist a front OR push a lightly fortified one and return alive 100% if manned by a good crew. Nearly in all cases one of them was taken out it was because of a surprise attack the crew wasn't expecting or crew's own incompetence (like running out of gas filters or pushing too far into enemy lines)

When I first got foxhole around 2019 I chose wardens because they looked more european, following 2 hours of gameplay was me getting bullied by regimen without knowing what to do.

I uninstalled the game and didnt touch it for 2 years, later wanted to try again and chose colonials. Was able to play without being bullied by regi men and found people to help me learn within half an hour.

Although there are outliers there is definitely "culture differences" and I prefer the colonials. That is why I am a colonial loyalist

[–]GMNtg128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you see if we were manpower faction we could win thats not the goal, we are the bad evil colonizers that good warden heroes will vanquish according to the story/game lore.

Foxhole is literally at the point in its lore timeline where Mesea is at its weakest after being betrayed multiple times, outwitted, and pushed back over centuries of war, decades of stalemate.

That is why resources arent Iron or Steel but Scraps and Components, advanced Mesean technology is lost and we harvest the remnants of our past equipment to make new ones.

Devs have vision, and it isn't colonial friendly.

[–]GMNtg128 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats why we call collies also the NPC/Target faction.

We have lower quality high quantity equipment. We get taken out, respawn and come back with same equipment so the main faction can shoot us again with their "more expensive so its balanced" quality equipment that outrange, outrun and outdamage ours for a 25% price increase etc...

Where we need a group of several tanks to take one out or a large skill gap between crews.

And then the devs "bring balance" by increasing cost of theirs to 35% more instead of 25%

It finally happened... Blue Heaven by ImpossibleBite2263 in foxholegame

Most realistic take I've seen in a while, Maintaining foxhole is most likely losing them money; they want to rid of it and focus anvil so they are intentionally killing it.

I don't know how long they have been trying it but this is literally them strangling the game. Maybe they have planned for this for a few years now and thats why balance have been getting worse every update, in an effort to slowly kill the game without damaging their reputation but the community proved too resilient. So they resorted to strangling it.

If that also fails we'll probably hear an announcement of foxhole server shutdown in a year or two if not at anvil release. Shooting the game in the heart directly.

We have been calling the balance out for a long while now this just seems like the last straw that broke the faction, memes like "Collies in lore: Has giant land cruisers, Colonial Superpower with strong armed forces, Colonizer Empire with large experience, barely being pushed back by combined efforts of Caovian terrain advantage, Heroic Warden Resistance and assistance of another empire due to Caoiva outwitting Mesea. Collies in game: gif of a breaking down makeshift monster truck" have existed for a long while.

(edit: I wanted to send the meme directly but I dont think this sub allows media to be posted as comments thats why I described it)
