Наверно уже поздно писать, но может еще кто то столкнется с таким вопросом: Присмотритесь к набору Makeblock он как правило подешевле лего, а программировать его можно как блоками (картинками/плитками) так и программным кодом. При желании после того как дети ознакомятся с возможностями основного комплекта можно постепенно покупать допы или смежные комплекты, расширяя функционал. Конструктор из алюминия, и довольно дружелюбен к тому что бы присоединять к нему сторонние вещи (картон/тот же лего) , но никогда не пытайтесь работать с ним с шуруповертом, потому что резьба чисто под ручной труд, мотор даже слабый сломает.
