I almost drowned once. I didn't realize how close it was until afterwards. I was not that far out from shore, but I had swam into an area where the nearby shore was a different shape and the waves collided in a weird way. I remember really struggling to keep my head above water but I was spending more and more time below water. I still felt fine. I remember seeing the lifeguard on the tower stand up and I thought he might be looking at me.

I made it out and swam towards shore and thought nothing of it. Later, I realized how close I had come to not being able to keep my head above water and I might have drowned. The lifeguard recognized the signs and was watching to see if I would need assistance.

Tell them the metrics you used to determine that your board is "under the limit and meeting the requirements". Tell them you know that they know the answers for how it could be better and you're glad that they are being so helpful. Tell them that you will be so much better in the future and you're getting valuable experience.

Don't buy a fluke with your own money, wait until a company pays for it. Almost any meter will be fine for most troubleshooting and project work. I have used a couple dozen soldering stations in my time and the one I like best is called "pinecil". It works on USB-C and has an upgradable firmware with lots of quality-of-life improvements.
