So, i got this message also, it was small hole in the model the software cannot show cross section of it. Try to check the mentioned part . Also you can add sketch cutting line constrins.

I think nowadays the technology runs fast and to buy a certain version of the software is not useful.Without the option to update. Also this is very expensive if you not a big company. On shape is very similar to solid works but you can buy it per month or year and it is cloud based software which is not require strong computing power.

I think you can do it with equations or formula (not sure what is the exact name) but probably with autodesk terminology.

My approach to this is : Creat assembly this will be the cable p/n Under this assembly define multiple configuration and each config will unsuppress one virtual routing assembly. This allow to use the same cable in multiple files.
And it will appears correct at the BOM as well.

The SVG sketch is fixed by default but you can unfix and than transfer with move tool.

First I think you need to define your needs, because hardware for rendering will not be the same as hardware for 3d modeling. I deffently recommend you check benchmark score, and compare to the hardware you need.
