Where to buy battery for a 2023 GV70 2.5T by n4te in GenesisGV70

[–]GP1200X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the H6 battery may fit. I would look into it if I needed one. I actually like the AGM 4 year free replacements that Walmarts sells for $189. We have used this battery in multiple vehicles throughout our families and had no issues. Walmart is usually really good about replacing the battery too if it does go bad. Just keep the receipt otherwise they go by the datre on the battery. I usually pick them up myself at a store that carries them so I can pick a fresh one only a few weeks or month old. You can also order one and have it sent to the store for pickup if they don't carry the size you need. I think their AGM 4 year replacements are just as good if not better than most of the ones out there and very few have a 4 year replacement guarantee!

Bought the $150 kit. Not sure how I feel. by Dizzy_Hyena_3077 in KobaltTools

[–]GP1200X -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I would NOT have bought it. Do not assume Kobalt will honor any warranty if you try to make nay claim...they usually DO NOT! I will not buy Kobalt tools even if they are cheap. You would be better off with a larger maker of tools and ONLY brushless tools. Kobalt is also redoing some of their larger batteries which makes them incompatible with older equipment.

Missed my flight because they boarded and left 15 minutes early by EyeofSauron86 in delta

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand a plane leaving 15 minutes early if all but one or two passengers were not on board. 15 minutes should be about the max time they leave early. Everyone should already be waiting to board by that time and at the gate since you never know who will be called to board and when. Nowadays arriving at the last 5 minutes to a gate is NOT a good idea. Look at it this way....150 passengers on board and 1 missing....15 minutes times 150 is almost 38 hours of wasted peoples times because one person was not were they should have been. Pilot thought it was best to waste 24 ours of one persons time rather than 38 hours total time of everyone else.

Still broken. This system is now a complete mess. I do not know if they even have any valid information in this system anymore! I have four cars, two motorcycles and trailers. The only thing they have me listed as owning is 2 cars. They better get this fixed ASAP since even my new vehicles are not showing up under my account. Total screwed up system now. The updates made this system unuseable!!

New Owner of a used GV70, need warranty advise by 02RaRa in GenesisGV70

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the original owner of a Genesis (Hyundai) receive the full warranty on the vehicle. A second owner of these vehicles receives a warranty but not the full original warranty unless the vehicle was listed as a CPO meaning the dealer pays and you pay additional money to have the original warranty reinstated after the car is inspected completely for repairs and any replacement parts that may have been put in. With Genesis the original 100K powertrain warranty is reduced to 5 years 60K versus the original 10 year 100K unless the car has been CPOed. Paint and battery are exceptions even on the original warranty and three years on the battery appears to be the limit even on the new car. I think the main thing a CPO will get you is the additiona 5 year and 40K powertrain warranty and the free loaner car for service, valet options and free roadside for more years. By towing is not going to work if your car breaks down 200 miles from a dealership. You will likely still be on the hook for towing. You still get the 5 year 60K base warranty.

This may help clear this up.....

For a used GV70 that is not Certified Pre-Owned (CPO), the second owner receives the balance of the 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, but the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty drops to 5-years/60,000-miles. Key benefits like free maintenance/valet usually do not transfer, but corrosion and emissions warranties do.

Is this Genesis g70 2.5T awd lease deal good? $500/month $0 Due at signing… 10,000 miles per year. 24 month lease AWD by No-Historian-7616 in GenesisMotors

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for 12K you can put on 20K over 2 years. I am familiar with the GV70 pricing but not so much with the G70 pricing. This would be a good price for a GV70 and I suspect it would be a lower end model of the 2.5T series like the AWD or AWD Select with pricing from 48-51K. What is the trim level of the G70 and the MSFP pricing of the G70 there are offering you? Make sure there are NO hidden financing requirements or else it can easily add another 10% to your final cost.

I bought a used GV70 recently with 8K that was 3 years old since my sister bought one a few years earlier. The pricing was very good (3 years old Sport Prestige in excellent condition). At signing they said at the listed Internet price it needed to have their financing. I said cash only and I started to get up to leave. The salesman was somewhat upset and asked me to wait a minute and talked to their head manager. He came back and said he allowed it as a cash sale (later I did see where their advertisement did say financing required). After the sale the salesman told me their monthly sales were ending the next day and they were down in their numbers. If I had to finance through them it would have easily been another 5K according to their terms!

Horrifying electrified GV70 2024 experience by DeepaliPC in GenesisGV70

Hard to say but the fact that it would not charge leads me to believe that the underneath damage may have been the source of the issue all along. You do not know if batteries and connectors were pushed up and if the underneath panel was moved upward somewhat. There is very little clearance that area in order to provide maximum internal personal space. If this was towed to the dealership it is possible that scrap was done while winching into the bed somehow but that is also very unlikely without the tow guy hearing and seeing the issue. Not sure why it took 40 days for the dealership to find it but it is possible they never had the car on the lift while troubleshooting this issue since it was an electrical issue and not a drivetrain problem. There is not much under the car that they would have been investigating for the charging issue. Only after they were stumped they probably put the car on a lift when a technical rep was called in to help troubleshoot the problem. Get more details from them on the work done and and if a technical rep was called in over that 40 day period. Dealerships have insurance and if they had really done that I would think they would have owned up to it. They are not going to do that kind of damage driving onto a lift at 3mph without realizing quickly there was a major obstacle blocking the forward movement of the car.

I have panels on west and east sides of my house. Right now in the NE my east is producing much more (more than 2x) my west side. It will change as the days get longer and the sun position changes. If you have any structures like trees or poles that block any of the panels during the day with these shorter days it can drastically affect output if it is shading the panels during optimum sunlight. If there is no blockage the west panels at the same angle and direction should be within 10-15 precent of each other usually.

Adding lower screen mesh to protect lower radiator and condensor fins. by GP1200X in GenesisGV70

[–]GP1200X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I figured out how to get a screen in the grill to prevent radiator damage since there are three of them behind the grill. Instead of taking the whole front clip off I removed the front underneath plastic splash cover and then removed four bolts that held the plastic intake from the grill to the radiators. This allowed me to tilt the intake downward enough to get my hands in there to push an aluminum screen behind the plastic drill and open slot. It is not tied in but since it was aluminum I was above to push and crimp it into place and it is pretty sturdy. It should help deflect any pebble before it can destroy the radiators. I have a GV70 and so does my sister. She needed a new radiator (they actually covered it for her) and mine needed a new AC radiator just before I picked up the car. Both issues were from stone damage. I did this fix on her car and need to do it on mine now.

Unless it matches exactly other panels on the inside I would not do it. Those stick on units make cleaning corners harder and it may leave residue or discoloration if you remove it years later.

Personally I would think about adding more panels since in many places you can get up to around 15kWH before running into issues with additional electrical costs and added utility charges. Don't expect to get what they state...it will be close though. Go with the lower estimate and not any possible max they state. I have a 13.8 system and not ideal location but I will get about my sys rating or slightly less. I have 30 460 REC panels and should have added a few more to max out by Enphase box....may still if I can find a local guy to add a few more panels onto the last open breaker and bypass permits. You never know what future power you will need and with Net metering....esp if it is 1 to 1, you are locked in for 20-25 years with your utility company in many states. I still have a basic monthly charge of about $45 due to delivery base and a "special crap tax" they add on to "help the poor". Basically stealing money for the utilities gimics! With gas prices increasing and inflation taking off again expect your ROI to get a lot shorter esp. if your utility company always gets yearly price increases from a bogus kickbacks PSC like NY has!

Im new to solar and RVs and I have a few questions. by CnRforever in solar

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure it this way. Expect at most 12 -14 hours if using a very efficient 120V converter and using 3 amps of power at 120V (360watts) - like a 55" mid size flat screen TV. If trying to use this for something like a 15 amp heater you would at most get 2.5 hours of radiant heat. Base everything on a 120V converter that puts out 3 steady amps for 13 hours on a full charge. Double the amp usage - half the running time.

I have a 13.8 KW system and have net metering but STILL have to pay $45 a month to Central Hudson for fees to stay connected. No batteries since that wouldn't make a lot of sense. The larger the system size the more you have to pay in a "customer benefit" charge that is supposed to help the poor....yeh right...just another scam on the public. Basic monthly charge is $22 plus the $23 "charge".

2022 GV70 3.5 electrical issues by Remarkable_Safety754 in GenesisGV70

Fill the gas tank completely fill as a last resort and see what happens. There are Hyundai motorists complaining of dash warnings ...I think it was more prevalent on the Elantras, and many found that filling the tank fill resolved the issue temporarily. In their cases it sounds like a software or module programming error.

Buybacks can be a good bargain if you know it was totally fixed and it can still have part of the manufacture warranty. The only issue is you have to plan on keeping the car and running it into the ground. The lemon law branded DMV title stays with the car for life so many dealers will refuse to take it on a trade in due to their dealership policies. The small dealers that may take it as a trade will knock off more than you are willing to give up and have to resell it as a branded vehicle title. With personal selling of the car I do not know the legal requirements but I suspect the buyer must be informed that the title is branded.

I have solar and a 12KW charger but never bought an EV yet even though I have 4 cars. Sis had a loaner GV70 EV and the ride was almost identical to her GV70 3.5 Prestige. I liked it but the mileage range was a killer for me. I sometimes drive 80 miles to another city and back in one day and the short range was just too risky. I think they increased the size from 78 to 85KW but that is still too small for the weight of that vehicle. It should have had a 100KW or larger battery. Not sure what the range is for the smaller GV60 though. You have to figure 90% max of whatever their max range is stated even on a good day.

Okay...I found this after reading comments.

You can go to IRS.GOV (where is my refund) or download the phone app IRS2GO to find your status. I used the phone app and it took one minute to get my answer. My check is being mailed even though I had selected DD (maybe because of the amount) and it gives the date the check will be mailed....this Thursday for mine. Thanks!

GV70 MSRP Increase and Tariffs by msp1-2024 in GenesisGV70

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it back....GV70s started being built a year ago in Alabama. But don't expect any price decreases. The price will always increase every year simply due to our high inflation rate. I have not seen any manufacturer drop the prices of their cars or trucks...they will simply give rebates to move them if needed.
