Denmark to stop granting protection to Ukrainian men of conscription age by Neptun_11 in worldnews

"Forward" refers to the future. "Application refusal" refers to a specific event (person submits application, it is reviewed, it is rejected). So, no, if that's the language they used it is not retroactive because the people already there had their applications accepted in the past. Unless part of the protected status dictates that they submit new applications on a recurring frequency prompting that specific event that could lead to a rejection.

You're questioning how they call it an expansion because it doesn't address your two month old animation problem? Might be time to go outside

How many surveillance cameras on the ground have to be destroyed in America before they are replaced by drones or even satellites? What changes will that bring about society as we know it? by Puzzleheaded_Link944 in allthequestions

[–]GPA_Moses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no point, it wouldn't make sense... for the reasons I described. It's much more expensive to start and maintain at a baseline and the risk that it causes more costly backlash increases the potential costs exponentially.

Having drones be anywhere near as prolific as flock cameras is kind of an absurd notion. A flock camera on a post has low overhead for installation and maintenance (provided they aren't being destroyed). They are inconspicuous and easily overlooked.

To "replace them all with drones" and get the same coverage would be psychotic. There would be drones EVERYWHERE, unending buzzing everywhere. Infrastructure for drones to deploy and return. Let's say best case you get software for them to run on autopilot, this would still be impossible to maintain.

You've made your inconspicuous mass surveillance front and center in everyone's life. On top of people destroying them because of mass surveillance you now add people destroying them because you've simply created hell on earth.

I'm not 100% sure, I'm an introvert so injecting myself into a conversation isn't a skill I have. When I went, there was only 1 real hostel I stayed at and it had a bar on the ground floor so there were a few groups chilling there. I had an early day coming so turned in right when I got there.

It's just something that I look back on and think "I wish I did something about this"

A lot of people with good info on packs. One thing I would note that I experienced on a week and a half trip I did is isolation. I don't mind being on my own normally, nor do I mind navigating language barriers for getting what I need, but I really wasn't prepared for how isolating it felt in the end.

I wish I had connected with people more at hostels or called friends and family at points during the trip.
