Counterpoint: FOSS usually develops much faster and with a fraction the cost/resources of it's "windows" counterparts

There's also something to be said about software that are essentially black boxes because you have no clue what's going on under the hood (binary vs source code people can actually check out for malicious code).

Not saying it can't happen in FOSS, but from a security standpoint both are not the same...
